Long-Form YouTube Editor for Talking Head Real Estate Videos
Confidential employer
ABOUT ME
Hi! I'm Lauren, a real estate agent in Cochrane, Alberta, Canada. I run a YouTube channel called Living in Cochrane Alberta that helps families relocating to Cochrane get a real feel for the town and its neighbourhoods before they arrive.
Channel: ----------
I'm looking for an experienced long-form editor with strong motion graphics skills to grow with long term as I get back to posting 1 video every week.
THIS ROLE IS NOT FOR YOU IF...
You mainly edit short-form reels or TikToks. I'm looking for someone who already edits long-form YouTube videos (10+ minutes) with motion graphics and animated on-screen text.
THE VIDEOS
- Talking head videos
- Pros & cons videos
- Map tours: a Google Maps screen recording with my voiceover, layered with drone footage of the neighbourhood
- Most videos are 15 to 20 minutes once edited, from about 20 to 30 minutes of raw footage
- Turnaround: a maximum of 4 days from when I send the footage to your first draft
I also have a large library of my own drone and b-roll footage from around Cochrane, and I'd love for that to be woven in throughout each video so it really feels local.
THE STYLE I'M GOING FOR
These are the channels I love the style of and want to get to. Please watch a full video from each before applying:
- ----------
- ----------
- ----------
That means:
- Animated text and callouts that pop up as I talk (prices, stats, key points, place names)
- Motion graphics like animated maps, location pins, charts, and lower thirds
- Clean, bright, natural colour (no heavy filters)
- Well-framed shots that aren't over-zoomed
- Smooth transitions, speed ramping, and sound design to keep viewers watching
- Fresh b-roll throughout, without repeating the same clips
AUDIO MATTERS TO ME
Clear audio is just as important as the visuals. Every video should have:
- Background noise removed (hum, hiss, wind, fans, room echo)
- My voice clear, warm, and levelled so the volume stays steady from start to finish
- Mouth clicks, breaths, and pops cleaned up
- Music that suits the mood and sits softly under my voice, ducking when I talk
- Smooth audio transitions between clips, with no sudden jumps, cut-offs, or volume spikes
- Subtle sound effects (whooshes, pops, swells) that match the motion graphics without overpowering
- Wind noise cleaned from any outdoor or drone footage
- Only licensed, copyright-safe music and sound effects
- Final audio mixed to YouTube loudness standards so it sounds great on phones, laptops, and TVs
WHAT I'M LOOKING FOR
- At least 1 year editing long-form YouTube content (real estate, travel, or explainer channels are a big plus)
- Strong motion graphics skills in After Effects, Premiere Pro, or DaVinci Resolve (CapCut-only editors, please don't apply)
- Confident with audio cleanup tools (Adobe Podcast Enhance, Premiere Essential Sound, DaVinci Fairlight, iZotope RX, or similar)
- Good English and clear, responsive communication
- Reliable with deadlines and comfortable working with files through Google Drive
- Fibre internet with at least 50 Mbps download / 20 Mbps upload, plus a backup connection and backup power
- Comfortable with honest, specific feedback (I'll always be kind and clear about what I'd like changed)
- Some overlap with Mountain Time (Alberta, Canada) for questions and feedback
HOW IT WORKS
1. Apply using the steps below
2. Shortlisted applicants complete a short PAID test edit (a 1 to 2 minute section of one of my videos, with motion graphics)
3. My favourite few will hop on a quick video call with me
4. We start with a trial of 4 videos to make sure it's a great fit for both of us
5. If it's a fit, this becomes ongoing weekly work, with potential to grow into a full-time role as the channel grows
Payment is weekly through Wise.
HOW TO APPLY
Apply right here on OnlineJobs.ph and use this as your subject line: COCHRANE Editor - [Your Name]

3. Your editing software
4. A link to your speedtest.net result (after the test, click Share and copy the link)
5. Your rate (per video or per hour), and confirmation that a 4 day turnaround works for you
Applications without the subject line, long-form samples, and timestamps won't be reviewed.
Thank you so much, I'm excited to meet you!
Lauren
