Bookkeeper & Software Builder – Real Estate Portfolio (Houston, TX)

Tabora Properties is a family-owned real estate and property management company in the Houston area. We own and manage residential apartments, commercial rentals, and a self-storage facility across several LLCs. We are moving off QuickBooks completely and want a simple, custom bookkeeping system built for our properties, likely using AI tools. We're looking for someone who can build it and run the books.

What you'll do

Design and build a custom bookkeeping system for multiple LLCs and properties, using AI tools where they make sense (automatic transaction categorization, receipt reading, bank data imports)
Fully migrate all historical records out of QuickBooks so we can cancel it permanently
Maintain the books going forward: record rent payments, deposits, and property expenses by property
Reconcile bank and credit card accounts monthly
Track security deposits, vendor bills, and recurring expenses like utilities, insurance, and property taxes
Organize records and work with our CPA at tax time

What we're looking for

Real estate or property management bookkeeping experience is a plus
Experience building software or automations (spreadsheets, databases, web apps, or AI tools like ChatGPT/Claude APIs)
QuickBooks experience, specifically for exporting and migrating data out of it cleanly
Detail-oriented, organized, and reliable
Knowledge of basic U.S. real estate tax rules (depreciation, Schedule E, 1099s for vendors, deductible expenses) is a major plus
