Short-Form Video Editor
Confidential employer
Schedule: Monday–Friday
Workload: Approximately 30–70 short-form videos per day
Job Overview
We are looking for a fast, detail-oriented, and creative Short-Form Video Editor who can handle high-volume editing while maintaining consistent quality.
This role requires more than simply following instructions. We're looking for someone with strong creative judgment who can independently select the best clips, understand which footage works with each hook, and make smart editing decisions without needing constant direction.
Most videos will be approximately 6–10 seconds long, with straightforward edits designed for Instagram Reels, TikTok, and other short-form platforms.
Responsibilities
-Edit approximately 30–70 short-form videos per day.
-Select the best footage to match each hook, concept, and content direction.
-Use creative judgment to identify the strongest clips and moments.
-Create engaging edits with appropriate pacing, framing, and formatting.
-Follow editing instructions, references, and content guidelines accurately.
-Maintain consistent quality across a high volume of videos.
-Organize completed edits and upload them to the designated folders.
-Meet deadlines and communicate proactively about delays or issues.
-Apply feedback and revisions while avoiding repeated mistakes.
-Identify opportunities to improve the content rather than relying entirely on step-by-step instructions.
Workload & Expectations
The daily workload will vary depending on the complexity of the videos. Some edits may be simple and quick to complete, while others may require more time and creative consideration.
The expected output is approximately 30–70 videos per day, depending on the assigned workload and editing requirements.
We expect editors to balance speed, quality, creativity, and consistency. Meeting the daily target is important, but the goal is not simply to produce as many videos as possible. The videos must also be well-executed and suitable for their intended concepts.
Key Expectations
-Creative judgment: Choose footage that best matches the hook and has the strongest potential to engage viewers.
-Attention to detail: Ensure videos follow the brief and meet the required quality standards.
-Independence: Make sound creative decisions without needing constant supervision.
-Consistency: Apply feedback correctly and avoid repeating the same mistakes.
-Reliability: Deliver work on time and communicate promptly when issues arise.
-Organization: Keep files properly named, organized, and uploaded to the correct folders.
-Proactiveness: Take ownership of your work and flag potential issues before they become problems.
Qualifications
-Experience editing short-form social media videos.
-Strong understanding of short-form content, hooks, and audience engagement.
-Good creative instincts and the ability to select suitable footage for different concepts.
-Ability to work quickly without compromising quality.
-Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
-Good time management and organizational skills.
-Ability to handle repetitive, high-volume editing tasks.
-Reliable communication and consistent delivery.
-Willingness to receive feedback, learn, and improve.
Compensation
Monthly compensation ranges from $800 to $1,200, depending on experience, editing speed, creative judgment, quality, and overall performance.
