Shopify Developer (Project, Casual, Part-Time and Full-Time)

About the role

We are looking for a Shopify Developer who can turn an existing Shopify theme into a finished online store. You will apply supplied designs, develop custom features, test and launch the website, and provide ongoing support.
You should be comfortable working beyond the theme editor and editing code to achieve the required design and functionality. Project work, casual, part-time and full-time positions

Key responsibilities

• Customise standard Shopify themes to match supplied designs and brand guidelines.
• Build responsive pages that work well on desktop, tablet and mobile.
• Develop custom sections, templates and features using Liquid, HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
• Make content and sections easy for clients to manage in Shopify.
• Implement product pages, collection pages, navigation, search, filtering and cart features.
• Configure Shopify apps and connect third-party services where required.
• Set up products, collections, metafields and other store content.
• Test layouts, functionality and the buying process across devices and browsers.
• Improve website speed, accessibility and basic technical SEO.
• Prepare and launch stores, including domain setup, redirects and final checks.
• Provide client handover instructions and basic training.
• Resolve issues after launch and deliver ongoing updates and improvements.
• Document custom code and communicate progress, questions and technical limitations clearly.

Required skills and experience

• Proven experience customising and launching Shopify stores.
• Strong skills in Shopify Liquid, HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
• Experience with Shopify Online Store 2.0, sections, templates and metafields.
• Ability to accurately turn Figma designs into working pages.
• Experience installing, configuring and troubleshooting Shopify apps.
• Understanding of responsive design, usability and ecommerce best practices.
• Ability to troubleshoot theme issues and app conflicts.
• Experience using Github or another version control system.
• Ability to estimate tasks, meet deadlines and work with designers and project managers.

Desirable skills

• Experience with Shopify APIs and custom integrations.
• Experience with analytics, conversion tracking and ecommerce SEO.
• Experience working in a web design agency.
• Experience providing ongoing website maintenance and client support.
