Flooring Estimator – Takeoffs & Bid Preparation

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Flooring Estimator to support our U.S.-based flooring operations. This position is responsible for reviewing architectural plans, performing accurate flooring takeoffs using RFMS Measure, and compiling complete flooring bids for review by our U.S.-based sales team.

We are looking for someone who can manage the estimating process from initial takeoff through bid preparation. The ideal candidate will not simply measure flooring quantities but will also develop organized, accurate, and comprehensive estimates that our salespeople can review, finalize, and submit to customers or general contractors.

Responsibilities

• Review construction plans, architectural drawings, flooring schedules, specifications, and project documents.
• Perform detailed flooring takeoffs and measurements using RFMS Measure.
• Calculate material quantities, waste factors, transitions, trims, adhesives, underlayment, and other installation requirements.
• Identify flooring types, room and area requirements, installation methods, and project-specific conditions from construction documents.
• Prepare and compile complete flooring bids alongside the takeoff process, ensuring all required materials, labor, and installation components are accounted for.
• Develop organized bid summaries that clearly identify flooring quantities, material selections, labor requirements, and overall project scope.
• Identify exclusions, allowances, alternates, and potential scope gaps that may impact the final proposal.
• Review drawings and specifications for discrepancies, missing information, or potential estimating concerns.
• Coordinate with U.S.-based salespeople to clarify project requirements and make necessary revisions to bids.
• Deliver completed takeoffs and prepared bids to the assigned salesperson for final review, pricing approval, and submission.
• Maintain accurate project files, estimating documentation, and bid revisions.
• Complete takeoffs and bid packages within established turnaround times.
• Work closely with our U.S.-based estimating, sales, and project management teams.

Qualifications

• Experience with construction estimating, quantity takeoffs, or architectural plans.
• Flooring estimating and bid preparation experience strongly preferred.
• Experience with RFMS Measure is highly preferred.
• Experience with Measure Square, Bluebeam, Plan Swift,
