About the Role

WATCH THIS FIRST (7 min): ----------
It walks through the whole job, the full pay plan, and our actual ---------- workspace. The application steps are at the end of the video and at the bottom of this post. Please watch it before applying. If you don't like how we run it, don't reply.

WHAT SECOND DESK IS
Second Desk pairs one virtual assistant with one licensed life insurance agent in the US. Not four agents. Not six. One. You become that agent's right hand: you know their leads, their calendar, and how they like things done. That is why setters here book more than setters split across a roster.
Our agents sell mortgage protection, final expense, and IUL. Mortgage protection is most of it: a life insurance policy that pays off the home loan if the homeowner passes away. You do not need to be an insurance expert. You need to be good with people, fast on a keyboard, and consistent.

THE JOB
You run the front end of the agent's business so they can spend the day closing:

  • 300–500 dials a day off the agent's lead list, using our script
  • Live transfers to the agent when they are in their Call Room
  • Answer inbound texts inside 5 minutes and move leads to a booked time
  • Work the follow-up sequences and log every disposition in GoHighLevel
  • Post a handoff packet for every appointment (name, mortgage balance, beneficiary, why they said yes)
  • Confirm every appointment you booked that day
  • Post end-of-day numbers in your desk channel: dials, conversations, appointments, transfers, closes

Everything except quoting and selling. That is the agent's job and legally it stays that way.

HOURS
Monday–Friday 9:00 AM–6:00 PM Eastern, plus Saturday 9:00 AM–5:00 PM Eastern. Those are the hours. You are in a ---------- voice channel for your whole shift.

HOW THE DAY RUNS (this is our real ---------- , you will see it in the video)

  • Clock in with one button in #clock-in-out. Your hours are tracked from it.
  • 10:30 AM Eastern: daily kickoff in the Morning Kickoff room. Yesterday's numbers, today's targets, and a training block on your pitch.
  • After kickoff: go to your desk channel, tag your agent, start dialing.
  • The Academy has the full dialer script, rebuttals, and the objection-handling playbook. If a call goes sideways, the answer is already written down.
  • Every agent-VA pair has its own private category: a text channel for the two of you and a Call room.
  • End of day: your numbers go in your desk channel.

FOUR RULES THAT NEVER BEND
1. You are not licensed and you never say you are.
2. You never quote a rate or a premium.
3. You never tell anyone a law or their lender requires this coverage.
4. "Stop calling" or "take me off your list" ends the conversation. Mark do-not-call, move on. No rebuttal.

RAMP

  • No shadowing. Day one: GoHighLevel login and CRM setup, learn how the automations run (follow-up sequences, reminders, pipelines), get the script and the dial/text cards, join the kickoff for a training block, then dial.
  • The best training is action. Most of our setters come in with dial experience, so you go on a desk and get coached on real calls.
  • Week 1: we look at how well you run the script and how clean your notes are, not your numbers.
  • Weeks 2–3: booking every day.
  • Target: 10–20 appointments a day. That is a full desk, and it is what the bonuses are built around.

Show rate is 50–60%, 80% if you run the confirmation ritual exactly as written.

PAY (please read the wording carefully)

  • Base: $300 USD/month, paid monthly or every two weeks, via Wise only
  • Your base goes up $50 for every 10 closes from appointments you set. Permanently. It never resets. Here is the full ladder (total closes from your appointments → monthly base):
  • 10 closes → $350
  • 20 closes → $400
  • 30 closes → $450
  • 40 closes → $500
  • 50 closes → $550
  • 60 closes → $600
  • 70 closes → $650 (max base)
  • Bonuses, no cap: $25 for every 3 phone sales from your appointments. $45 for every 6 text sales from your follow-up threads. Bonuses are calculated and paid on the 30th of each month.
  • A close = a policy issued from an appointment you set. A phone sale came from a dial. A text sale came from your text follow-up. Everything is verified in the CRM before it is paid.

TOOLS YOU GET
GoHighLevel login on your agent's account, ---------- invite, the full setter script PDF, and two one-page cards (dial and text) that stay on your screen all day.

HOW TO APPLY
These are the rules and this is how we run it. If you don't like it, don't reply. If this sounds like you, reply to this post with three things:
1. A short voice recording of you reading this opener. Read it chill, low, and unhurried, like you have all day: "(Client's name)... it's (your full name), calling from (agent's full name)'s office. Are you doing ok this morning? (Agent's full name) is a licensed senior underwriter within the state of (state)." Use your own name, and use "Michael Carter" for the agent and "Texas" for the state.
2. Confirm you can work Mon–Fri 9 AM–6 PM and Sat 9 AM–5 PM Eastern.
3. Are you comfortable being pushed to be better?
Applications without all three will not be reviewed. You will hear back within 7 days. If selected, you get your desk and you are dialing on day one.
