Appeal Reviewer (Content Moderation), part-time or full-time
Confidential employer
Content Rewards pays creators for short clips they post for brand campaigns. When a clip is rejected or an account is banned, the creator can appeal. We're hiring 3 to 4 careful, fair appeal reviewers to check the evidence and make the call using our written guide.
ROLE DETAILS
- Part-time (20 hours a week) or full-time (40 hours a week).
- Pay: $5–$7 USD an hour, depending on experience.
- Longer-term opportunities are available.
- Shortlisted candidates may be invited to a paid practical trial at the agreed hourly rate.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Review creator appeals of rejected clips: read the campaign's rules, check the creator's evidence (captions, analytics screenshots and recordings) and d ---------- : overturn, keep rejected, ask for more information, or escalate.
- Write a short reason for every decision that another reviewer can follow.
- Write clear, kind replies to creators, including upset ones.
- Flag patterns, such as a campaign that may be rejecting clips unfairly.
- Work from a written guide and ask when unsure. Accuracy and consistency matter more than speed.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- Fair judgment: you d ---------- on evidence, not on tone or on who is asking.
- Strong attention to detail: dates, video lengths, captions, matching evidence to the right clip.
- Clear written English and a calm, kind tone.
- Experience in content moderation, trust and safety, customer support, compliance, data review or QA is helpful.
- Knowing TikTok, Instagram Reels or YouTube Shorts analytics is a plus.
- A reliable computer and internet connection.
- If you post clips for paid campaigns yourself, you can still apply. Tell us, so you never review your own or your friends' appeals.
HOW TO APPLY
1. Read the role brief and the five Loom questions BEFORE starting:
----------
2. Complete the practical exercise:
----------
Everyone reviews the same ten fictional appeals (rejected clips and banned accounts) with the same guide, then writes one message to a creator. Most cases include screenshots to check closely. Use a laptop/desktop. Setup is untimed. Once you click Start, you have a firm 35-minute limit, and the clock keeps running through refreshes, breaks and tab changes. At 35 minutes your last saved work locks automatically.
Work on your own. Do not use ChatGPT or other AI tools: we want to see how you think. The exercise notes pasted text and time spent away from its tab.
3. AFTER the exercise, record a separate 3–5 minute spoken Loom, outside the 35-minute timer. Answer these five questions in order:
- What experience would help you in this role? Give one example of a decision you made using rules or evidence.
- Why are you interested in Content Rewards and this appeal reviewer role?
- Walk us through one case from the exercise: what you d ---------- , which evidence mattered most, and what would have changed your decision.
- A creator is upset and says your decision cost them money. How do you handle it, and when would you change your decision?
- Do you want part-time (20 hours a week) or full-time (40 hours a week)? Include your time zone, usual available hours, earliest start date and expected hourly rate in USD.
Webcam is optional. A simple, unedited recording is fine and no paid plan is needed. Check that we can open your Loom without requesting access, or share it with ---------- Apply or reply here on OnlineJobs with BOTH your completion code (APL-…) and your Loom share link. We review the exercise after receiving the matching code.
Use your usual application email . If you lose your code, reopen the exercise link in the same browser and device; do not clear the saved session or start again. If you have a technical problem, message us here with details.
