Senior Automation QA Engineer - Remote

ABOUT THE ROLE
We are building a new fintech product from the ground up for a US client: a cash-flow tool that helps small businesses understand what they can safely spend today, from bank, accounting and card-settlement data. It runs embedded inside partner web portals and as a standalone web app. You will be the quality owner on a small senior team (four full-stack engineers and you), from the first week to launch.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Own the test strategy and turn business acceptance criteria into automated tests.
• Automate calculation test vectors so financial figures are verified on every commit.
• Build and maintain API and end-to-end UI suites with Playwright (TypeScript), including embedded (iframe and web component) scenarios.
• Write contract tests against third-party sandboxes (open banking, accounting, payment processor).
• Run performance tests (k6) against response-time targets and accessibility checks (axe-core, WCAG 2.1 AA).
• Integrate all suites into GitHub Actions so quality gates block bad merges.
• Run regression for each release, manage defects by severity, and coordinate user acceptance testing with the client.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

• 7+ years in QA, with at least 3 years focused on test automation.
• Strong TypeScript or JavaScript and hands-on Playwright (or Cypress with willingness to use Playwright or alike).
• API testing experience (REST, authentication, JSON schema validation).
• Experience building CI-integrated test suites and keeping them fast and reliable.
• Comfort with SQL to set up and verify test data.
• A sharp eye for edge cases, especially around money, dates and time zones.
• Clear written and spoken English, and comfort working directly with a client's product owner.
• Experienced AI Enabled Engineer that uses proper harnesses, agents and skills and Daily use of AI-assisted engineering tools (for example Claude Code), with the judgment to review and test their output. People building automation with Claude, Codex, Cursor or a like. This is a must!!!

WE PREFER PEOPLE WITH

• Fintech or payments testing experience.
• Performance testing with k6 and accessibility testing.
• Testing third-party integration through sandboxes and mocks.
• Testing embedded widgets inside host pages.
