C# Programmer / Software Developer
Confidential employer
Part time, remote
10 to 20 hours per week to start
Pay based on experience
About the role
I’m looking for a C# developer to help debug, stabilize, and maintain a Windows Console game project.
You’ll help debug and maintain a C# Windows Console project, including:
Finding and fixing bugs in player actions, weapon behavior, and combat UI
Making sure the HUD, character sheet, and actual combat methods stay in sync
Reviewing AI generated code and identifying risky or broken logic
Refactoring small areas only when it clearly reduces bugs
Preserving existing working systems while improving stability
Helping organize messy code into clearer, safer patterns over time
Running builds, testing fixes, and explaining what changed
You’d be a good fit if you:
Have solid experience with C#
Can work comfortably in an existing codebase
Know how to debug without randomly rewriting everything
Can read messy code and figure out the safest fix
Care about maintainability and simple architecture
Are comfortable with console applications
Can communicate clearly about bugs, tradeoffs, and what you changed
Can work independently and ask good questions when something is unclear
Game development experience is a plus, but not required. Strong C# debugging skills matter more.
Nice to have
Experience with turn based games, RPG systems, or combat logic
Experience cleaning up AI generated code
Familiarity with GitHub
Comfort working with large files and legacy style code
Ability to create simple test plans before and after fixes
Current project needs
How to apply
Please include:

Your experience with C#
Any experience debugging messy or AI generated code
