Data Engineer – Python & SQL (Remote)

Location: Fully Remote
Employment: Full-Time | 40 Hours per Week
Salary: $1,300 - $1,500 / month

About the Role:
Bluegeko is building a large international platform for professional discovery and hiring.
We are looking for an experienced Data Engineer to develop and maintain the data infrastructure supporting our platform's analytics, search and AI features.
You will work closely with our engineering and product teams to build reliable data pipelines, improve data quality and support scalable data processing.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain data ingestion and transformation pipelines.
• Build and optimise ETL/ELT workflows for large datasets.
• Improve data quality, validation, monitoring and reliability.
• Design and maintain efficient databases and data models.
• Integrate data from multiple sources and APIs.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to support analytics, search and AI systems.

Requirements:

• 3+ years of professional data engineering experience.
• Strong programming skills in Python and SQL.
• Experience building and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Good understanding of database design and data modelling.
• Experience working with cloud-based data services.
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
• Good written and spoken English.
• Ability to work US Eastern business hours.

Nice to Have:

• Experience with Apache Airflow, dbt or Apache Spark.
• Experience supporting AI or machine learning systems.
• Experience processing large datasets.
• Experience with AWS data services.
