About the Role
We’re looking for a talented Video Editor & YouTube Growth Specialist to help us grow our YouTube channel and expand our content across social media platforms.
This role is ideal for someone who understands that great social media content is about more than simply editing a video. You should know how to capture attention, maintain viewer retention, create strong hooks, and package content in a way that makes people want to click and watch.
You’ll primarily work with video footage that we provide and turn it into engaging YouTube videos and short-form content for platforms such as YouTube Shorts, TikTok, Instagram Reels, and Facebook .
We’re especially interested in someone who understands how YouTube works and can contribute ideas about what makes content perform, how to improve retention, and how to grow a channel over time.
About AppAid
AppAid is a dedicated Social Security advocacy group committed to assisting individuals with disabilities who are unable to work full-time. Our mission is to guide and support clients through the Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) and Supplemental Security Income (SSI) application and claims process, ensuring they receive the benefits they deserve.
As our company continues to grow, we’re investing in our digital presence to expand our YouTube and social media channels and reach more people with helpful, engaging content about the disability benefits process. We’re looking for talented individuals to help us grow that audience and support our continued growth.

The ideal candidate is creative, curious, and focused on results. They should be able to look at a piece of footage and think:
"What is going to make someone stop scrolling?"
"What will make them keep watching?"
"What's the strongest moment in this footage?"
"How can we package this so someone wants to click?"
You should be comfortable bringing ideas to the table and explaining why you think a particular edit, hook, thumbnail, or format could perform better.
As part of the application process, shortlisted candidates may be asked to complete a short editing exercise using raw footage provided by us. The exercise will involve creating a 15–30 second social media video so we can better understand your editing style, creativity, pacing, and ability to create an engaging hook.
