AI Automation Engineer & Coach — Part-Time ($2,000/month)
Confidential employer
I use AI daily for business operations, sales follow-ups, research, content creation, and brand partnerships. I am looking for an experienced AI automation engineer who enjoys teaching and can help me become much better at using AI while building useful systems with me.
The goal is practical: improve real workflows, explain your decisions clearly, and help me learn to maintain and improve what we build.
ROLE AND SCHEDULE
- Remote, part-time: approximately 15 hours per week.
- Compensation: $2,000 USD per month for the agreed schedule.
- Start with a 30-day paid trial, with the possibility of an ongoing role based on results and mutual fit.
- Include two one-hour live working/teaching sessions each week within the 15 hours, at mutually agreed times compatible with US Eastern Time.
- Remaining hours are flexible and focused on building, testing, documentation, and support. Additional hours and software costs must be agreed in advance.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Review how I currently use AI and identify the highest-value improvements.
- Build reliable workflows for business information, sales follow-ups, content research and repurposing, and brand-partnership tracking. We will prioritize a small number of projects together.
- Connect tools and data using APIs, scripts, and platforms such as n8n, Make, or Zapier when appropriate.
- Teach me how to give AI better context, choose suitable tools, evaluate outputs, troubleshoot failures, and make changes independently.
- Use AI coding tools such as Codex or Claude Code where useful, and explain the code and decisions in plain English.
- Document each system with clear instructions, short walkthroughs, and a plan for maintenance.
FIRST 30 DAYS
- Assess existing workflows and agree on two achievable, valuable projects.
- Deliver and test those two workflows, documenting their limits and the improvement over the current process.
- Run regular hands-on lessons using the actual projects.
- Help me independently make and test a small change to at least one workflow.
WHAT YOU SHOULD BRING
- Evidence of working AI automations or integrations that you personally built and maintained.
- Practical programming ability in Python or JavaScript/TypeScript, plus experience with APIs and at least one automation platform.
- Strong spoken and written English and the patience to teach a non-engineer without unnecessary jargon.
- Good judgment about when a simple process is enough and when AI adds value.
- Experience handling missing data, unreliable model outputs, duplicate actions, failed integrations, and ongoing costs.
- Care with access permissions and private data. Keep separate businesses' information separate, and use approval steps before external messages, publishing, or consequential changes.
HOW TO APPLY
Please apply through OnlineJobs.ph and include:
1. Two relevant systems you built: the problem, what you personally implemented, tools used, and what improved. Share a portfolio or sanitized demo if available; do not share client secrets.
2. A short 3–5 minute screen recording explaining an existing workflow you built, including one failure you encountered and how you fixed it. Teach it as if I were your client.
3. One improvement you would investigate first for someone using AI across business operations and content, and how you would check whether it worked.
4. Your weekly availability, possible live-session times in US Eastern Time, start date, and confirmation that the compensation and schedule fit.
Shortlisted applicants will have a practical conversation and may be invited to a small paid exercise, with scope and fee agreed in advance. We will assess implementation ability, teaching clarity, reliability, and communication. Please be ready to explain and modify your own work; AI-assisted work is welcome.
