About the Role

UGC Video Editor | Hooks, B-Roll & Creative Variations

Hey! I’m Corey Brooks, a content creator looking for an editor specifically for UGC and Trybe videos.

I create content for clothing and lifestyle brands, and I need someone who understands how to turn product footage into engaging videos with strong hooks, clear messaging, and natural pacing.

A big part of this role is creating multiple versions from the same footage. You should understand how to change the hook, script, b-roll, and structure so each version feels intentional and gives us something different to test.

What you’ll work on:

  • Editing short-form UGC and Trybe product videos.
  • Creating multiple variations using different hooks, angles, benefits, and CTAs.
  • Matching b-roll to the voiceover so viewers see what we’re talking about.
  • Helping write and improve scripts with a hook, re-hook, problem/solution, product details, and CTA.
  • Organizing footage so we can reuse strong clips across future edits.
  • Adding clean captions, music, and sound design when they improve the video.

What you need to understand:

  • How to grab attention in the first few seconds.
  • The difference between a new creative angle and simply swapping the opening clip.
  • How to show product details, fit, texture, and benefits through b-roll.
  • How to keep a product video natural, relatable, and convincing.
  • How to cut unnecessary pauses and repetition without making the delivery feel rushed.
  • How to follow a brand brief and keep product claims accurate.
  • How to use feedback and performance results to improve future variations.

For example, if I send footage of a hoodie, you should be able to create different versions focused on comfort, fit, styling, or everyday use, with relevant hooks and supporting footage for each.

My preferred style:

Clean, natural, and engaging. Some videos will need very little editing. Others will need more storytelling and b-roll. You should know what the video needs and make the product and message easy to understand.

I’m looking for someone who can contribute ideas, spot gaps in the footage, and tell me what additional shots or lines would make the videos stronger.

How to apply:

Use “LET ME COOK” as your application subject line.

Please include:

1. Three direct links to your best UGC or product video edits, ideally including clothing content. Explain what you personally worked on.
2. An example of multiple variations you created for the same product and what you changed between them.
3. Three different hook ideas for a comfortable everyday hoodie.
4. Your editing software, availability, expected rate, and typical turnaround time.
5. Whether you also have experience writing UGC scripts.

Shortlisted applicants will be invited to complete a paid test edit, creating a few variations from the same footage.

I’m looking for an ongoing editor who takes pride in their work, communicates well, and can help me consistently create stronger product videos.
