Virtual Assistant – Dental Billing, Coding & RCM Specialist

We are looking for an experienced Virtual Assistant / Dental Billing & RCM Specialist to support a dental business based in California.

The ideal candidate must have hands-on experience with Curve Dental software, dental billing and coding, PPO insurance, Denti-Cal, medical billing, and Revenue Cycle Management (RCM).

We are looking for someone who can start ASAP and is interested in a long-term opportunity with potential to transition into a full-time position based on performance and business needs.

⏰ Availability Requirements

The candidate must be available to work in multiple time blocks throughout the day to support our California dental operations:

Morning: 3 hours
Noon/Midday: 2 hours
Afternoon: Availability required as needed

Potential for additional hours and full-time work for the right candidate
Candidates who are only available during one continuous time block may not be the best fit for this position.

Key Responsibilities

Manage and follow up on dental insurance claims and outstanding balances
Work extensively in Curve Dental software
Handle dental billing, coding, and insurance verification
Review and understand common CDT/dental procedure codes
Work with PPO insurance plans and Denti-Cal
Understand dental and medical insurance benefits and eligibility
Submit, review, and follow up on insurance claims
Identify claim denials, errors, and missing information
Perform insurance follow-ups and claim status checks
Assist with Accounts Receivable (AR)
Follow up on outstanding insurance and patient balances
Assist with Revenue Cycle Management (RCM)
Review EOBs and insurance payments
Maintain accurate patient and billing records
Communicate professionally with insurance companies and the dental team
Help identify billing issues and improve collection processes

Required Qualifications

Previous experience working in a dental office or dental billing/RCM company
Strong hands-on experience with Curve Dental
Knowledge of dental billing and coding
Familiarity with PPO insurance
Experience with Denti-Cal
Knowledge of medical billing and coding
Experience with dental RCM, AR, claims, denials, and insurance follow-up
Strong understanding of dental procedure/CDT codes
Excellent attention to detail
Strong English communication skills
Ability to work independently
Reliable internet connection and appropriate work setup
Ability to work during multiple time blocks throughout the day
Available to start ASAP

⭐ Preferred Experience

Experience working with California-based dental practices is a plus
Experience with medical billing, Denti-Cal, PPO plans, and handling both dental and medical claims is a strong advantage.
We are specifically looking for someone with real, hands-on dental billing experience.
This is not a general virtual assistant position. Strong knowledge of Curve Dental, dental coding, PPO, Denti-Cal, medical billing, and dental RCM is required.

Schedule: Split coverage throughout the day | California/Pacific Time
