E-commerce Website Operations Manager – Shopify Site

Park Ave Appliance is an online major-appliance retailer based in New Jersey. We sell refrigerators, ranges, washers, dryers, dishwashers and other major appliances through ---------- .

We are looking for a very sharp, responsible person to take ownership of the day-to-day operation of our e-commerce website.

This is not a developer position. We are looking for someone who understands e-commerce, notices details, learns quickly, solves problems, and follows things through until they are completely finished.

The job

You will work directly with the owner and help make sure the website is accurate, current and working properly every day.
Your responsibilities will include:

• Keep promotions, manufacturer rebates, pricing, banners and sale pages current.
• Review product pages and collections for incorrect pricing, missing information, images, stock issues, broken links and other problems.
• Build and update sale pages, brand pages, collections and other website content.
• Test the website regularly on desktop and mobile and catch problems before customers do.
• Work with spreadsheets and CSV files for product and pricing updates.
• Keep track of open website issues and follow up until they are completely resolved.
• Notice problems yourself instead of waiting for someone to point them out.
• Learn new systems and figure things out when there is no step-by-step instruction.
• Communicate clearly with the owner about what you are working on, what is completed and what still needs attention.

We are not looking for somebody who simply waits for a task list.
If you notice something is wrong, investigate it. If you can fix it, fix it. If you need help from somebody else, follow up until it is done.

Who we are looking for

• Experience working with an e-commerce website.
• Shopify experience is strongly preferred.
• You do not need to have previously held the title “E-commerce Manager.” A very smart, capable person who learns quickly can be a great fit.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Good Excel or Google Sheets skills.
• Comfortable learning software and figuring out technical problems.
• Strong written and spoken English.
• Organized and able to keep track of many small details without dropping things.
• A self-starter who takes responsibility and finishes what they start.
• Comfortable speaking directly with the owner and giving honest feedback when you think something should be done differently.

Experience with HTML, CSS, Liquid, Google Merchant Center, product feeds or manufacturer rebates is helpful, but not required.

Hours
All hours are U.S. Eastern Time:

• Sunday: 11:00 AM–4:00 PM
• Monday–Thursday: 10:00 AM–6:00 PM
• Friday: 10:00 AM–1:00 PM

Some flexibility may be possible.

Pay

$1,500–$2,200 USD per month, depending on experience, ability and level of responsibility.
Strong candidates will be considered toward the top of the range.
Paid time off is agreed individually.
