YouTube Audio Editor – Background Music & Sound Effects

We are looking for a talented audio editor to add background music and sound effects to videos for our Disney-focused theory YouTube channel for a long-term collaboration.

The ideal candidate knows how to use sound to make storytelling more engaging, building suspense, emphasizing reveals, supporting emotional moments, and adding humor. You should be able to choose music and sound effects that match each scene while keeping the narration clear and easy to understand.

Bonuses and raises based on quality work and performance!

You will be responsible for adding music and sound effects to four 8–12 minute videos per month, approximately one video per week. We will provide the edited videos with narration; your focus will be on the music, sound effects, and final audio balance.

You will be part of a creative team with a supportive team culture and opportunities to grow.

Compensation: $75 USD per month for 4 videos.

Responsibilities:

• Select and place background music that matches each video’s tone, pacing, and story.
• Add relevant sound effects to enhance important moments, transitions, jokes, and reveals.
• Balance music and sound effects so they support the narration without overpowering it.
• Create smooth audio transitions and maintain consistent volume throughout each video.
• Make revisions based on feedback to match the channel’s creative direction.

Requirements:

• Strong English comprehension and an understanding of storytelling.
• Experience adding background music and sound effects to YouTube videos.
• Good judgment about when to use sound and when to let a moment breathe.
• Turnaround time of 48 hours or less per video after receiving the materials.
• Proficiency with professional audio or video editing software.
• Ability to source your own music and sound effects. We do not provide library access or cover subscription costs. Free resources are welcome if their licenses permit use in our monetized YouTube videos.
• Ability to verify that asset licenses cover client work and publication on our channel, and provide source links, license details, and any required attribution.
• Reliable communication, attention to detail, and the ability to meet deadlines.
• Willingness to work long-term and grow with the team.

Please provide 2–3 examples of videos where you personally selected and added the music and sound effects. Briefly explain your contribution to each example, the editing software you use, and where you source your music and sound effects.
