About the Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Remote Accountant to support the accounting and financial operations of multiple U.S.-based companies across several industries.
This opportunity is ideal for a hands-on accounting professional who is comfortable managing multiple responsibilities, working independently and supporting a growing organization with diverse accounting needs.
Direct experience performing accounting work under U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (U.S. GAAP) for U.S.-based companies is a mandatory requirement.
We are looking for someone with practical accounting experience who can contribute beyond routine bookkeeping and take ownership of accounting responsibilities with accuracy, sound judgment and consistent follow-through.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and post journal entries, accruals and adjusting entries.
Perform bank, credit card, general ledger and balance-sheet reconciliations.
Support monthly, quarterly and year-end closing activities.
Prepare financial statements, supporting schedules and management reports.
Maintain accurate general ledger records across multiple business entities.
Investigate discrepancies, research accounting issues and resolve errors.
Support accounts payable, accounts receivable and intercompany accounting.
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis and cash-flow reporting.
Coordinate audit documentation and support financial compliance requirements.
Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting and efficiency.
Collaborate with U.S.-based Finance leadership and operational teams.

Minimum 3 years of direct, hands-on accounting experience applying U.S. GAAP for U.S.-based companies.
At least 3-5 years of professional accounting experience with meaningful responsibility for general ledger accounting and financial reporting.
Demonstrated experience with journal entries, accruals, reconciliations and monthly or quarterly closing processes.
Experience preparing or substantially contributing to financial statements.
Ability to independently investigate accounting discrepancies and resolve problems.
Proficiency with accounting software or ERP systems such as QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, Xero or comparable platforms.
Strong Microsoft Excel skills and attention to detail.
Strong written and spoken English communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines and work independently with minimal supervision.
Important: General bookkeeping, AP/AR processing, external audit experience or employment with an international organization does not independently satisfy the required hands-on U.S. GAAP accounting experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
CPA certification or equivalent professional accounting credential (not required).
Experience supporting multiple U.S. business entities or companies across different industries.
Experience with intercompany accounting, consolidations and multi-entity financial reporting.
Experience with financial dashboards, Power BI, financial analysis or FP&A support.
Familiarity with AI tools, accounting automation and process improvements.
Experience working directly with U.S.-based accounting or finance leadership.
