Experienced Script Writer for YouTube Channel FullTime
Confidential employer
I run an established YouTube channel with long-form videos around 45–60 minutes.
I'm looking for one experienced YouTube script writer to join us full time and long term.
The role starts with writing, but if you're good and we work well together, there's a path to taking on more of the channel and eventually becoming Channel Manager.
Pay: $650/month + bonuses when your videos perform well (which happens regularly on our channel).
THE ROLE
You'll take a video from topic to finished script:
- Research the topic properly
- Find the strongest angle and hook
- Build the structure
- Write the full 45–60 minute script
- Check your facts and sources
- Improve the script based on feedback
You'll get access to our existing scripts, successful videos and analytics so you can learn what works with our audience.
We're not looking for someone who can just write well. You need to understand YouTube.
Hooks, retention, pacing, curiosity, storytelling and knowing when a viewer might get bored all matter.
WHAT I'M LOOKING FOR
You should already have experience writing long-form YouTube videos.
Strong English is important, but so is judgment. You should be able to read a lot of research, understand what's actually interesting and turn it into a story people want to keep watching.
You should also be fast, reliable, punctual, easy to communicate with and good at taking feedback.
This is a full-time position, not a side job. We use time tracking during working hours.
WHERE THIS CAN GO
If your scripts perform and you understand the channel, I'll gradually give you more responsibility:
- Finding and validating video ideas
- Reviewing analytics
- Planning content
- Reviewing other writers/research
- Checking edits
- Eventually helping run the channel
There's room for more responsibility, higher pay and performance bonuses as you grow.
I'm looking for someone who wants to stay for years.
HOW TO APPLY
Send everything in one message.
1. Your 3 best long-form YouTube videos that YOU personally wrote.
For each one, send the link, current views, video length and what you personally worked on.
2. If you have access to analytics, send screenshots showing:
- Retention after 30 seconds
- Average view duration / percentage viewed
- Retention graph
If you don't have access, that's fine.
3. Pick one of those videos and paste the exact hook/opening you wrote.
4. Find one long-form YouTube video from the last 6 months that got significantly more views than the channel normally gets.
Send the link and tell me in 3–4 sentences why you think it worked.
5. Tell me your time zone, availability and when you can start.
Don't send a long cover letter. Just send what I've asked for.
Write "retention" at the end of your application so I know you read the whole post.
WHAT HAPPENS NEXT
The best applicants will get a short paid writing test using material from our actual channel.
If you're good, you'll have stable full-time work, performance bonuses, room for raises and a real path to becoming Channel Manager.
