Digital Animator

This position works directly with the Academics Team, Tech Team, and Marketing Team to create engaging, interactive animations for STEM 101's educational applications and digital learning experiences. The Digital Animator will use Rive to design animations that help students better understand concepts, navigate learning activities, receive feedback, and stay engaged throughout the learning experience. This role combines animation, user experience design, and educational storytelling to bring STEM learning to life for students of all ages.

Qualifications

*Proficient in Rive animation software
*Experience creating interactive animations, state machines, and UI animations
*Strong understanding of animation principles, motion design, and visual storytelling
*Experience creating assets for educational apps, games, or interactive digital products
*Familiarity with UX/UI design principles
*Experience with Adobe Illustrator, Figma, Canva, or similar design tools
*Ability to optimize animations for web and mobile performance
*Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
*Ability to collaborate with curriculum developers, designers, and software developers
*Proficient in written and verbal English communication
*Able to provide a portfolio showcasing interactive animation projects

Responsibilities

*Design and develop interactive animations using Rive for STEM 101 educational applications
*Create animated characters, interfaces, illustrations, rewards, badges, and learning interactions
*Develop animations that support student engagement and concept comprehension
*Create animated onboarding experiences and in-app tutorials
*Collaborate with curriculum developers to visually represent STEM concepts
*Work with developers to integrate Rive animations into applications
*Design responsive animations that function across desktop, tablet, and mobile devices
*Create reusable animation components and maintain asset libraries
*Test animations for usability, accessibility, and performance
*Maintain consistency with STEM 101 brand standards
*Document animation workflows and design systems
*Assist with creative projects supporting STEM 101's digital learning initiatives

Preferred Experience

*Experience creating educational technology (EdTech) products
*Experience designing gamification elements such as achievements, progress systems, rewards, and badges
*Experience creating child-friendly animation styles
*Experience collaborating with software developers on app implementation
*Understanding of learning science, student motivation, or educational design

System Requirements
Owns a laptop or desktop computer capable of running Rive and modern design software. Reliable high-speed internet with at least 100 Mbps speed. Ability to participate in video meetings and collaborate remotely with team members.

Working Conditions
Candidate can work from anywhere, with reliable internet access. They must be able to communicate in a clear and prompt manner. It is a full-time position with 40 hours per week. There will be daily communications with team members in the Philippines and the US. Half of the work time will be on the US time schedule and the other half of the work hours are flexible.
