Freelance HR Consultant – UK Employee Grievance Investigation

We are a small signage company based in Scotland seeking an experienced freelance HR consultant to assist with a formal employee grievance.

This is a short-term, remote assignment. Philippines-based applicants are welcome, but demonstrable experience handling UK employee grievances is essential.

Scope of work

Review the grievance, correspondence, employment contract and relevant policies.

Advise on a fair procedure consistent with the Acas Code.

Conduct a remote grievance meeting and relevant witness interviews.

Review evidence impartially and identify any further enquiries needed.

Prepare a clear investigation report with reasoned findings and recommendations.

Assist with the written outcome and appropriate appeal arrangements.

The grievance includes concerns about management conduct, disability-related reasonable adjustments, remote working and annual leave.

Essential experience

Practical experience investigating UK employee grievances.

Strong knowledge of the Acas Code and Equality Act 2010.

Experience with disability adjustments and bullying allegations.

Excellent spoken and written English.

Ability to handle sensitive information securely and confidentially.

Availability for meetings during UK working hours.

An impartial approach, with no predetermined outcome.
