Job Description

We are looking for experienced, passionate, and engaging online tutors to provide personalized, one-on-one instruction to two homeschooled boys in Grades 5 and 9.

We are seeking tutors who specialize in Algebra, Science, English, and Biology and can help students develop a strong academic foundation, improve their critical thinking skills, and become confident, independent learners.

Candidates may apply to teach one or multiple subjects, depending on their qualifications and expertise.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct interactive, engaging, and structured online tutoring sessions.
• Provide subject-specific instruction appropriate to each student's grade level and learning needs.
• Follow the students' existing curriculum and supplement lessons with additional learning resources when necessary.
• Assist with homework, assignments, projects, and test preparation.
• Identify learning gaps and develop strategies to address academic challenges.
• Encourage critical thinking, problem-solving, independent learning, and effective study habits.
• Monitor academic performance and provide regular progress reports.
• Prepare lesson materials, practice exercises, and assessments as needed.
• Communicate proactively with parents regarding student progress, challenges, and recommendations.

Subjects We Are Hiring For

1. Mathematics / Algebra Tutor

• Strong knowledge of Grade 5 Mathematics and/or Grade 9 Algebra.
• Ability to explain mathematical concepts clearly and develop students' problem-solving skills.

2. Science / Biology Tutor

• Experience teaching elementary science and/or high school Biology.
• Ability to simplify complex scientific concepts and incorporate interactive learning activities.

3. English Tutor

• Experience teaching English Language Arts (ELA) at elementary and/or high school levels.
• Strong background in grammar, reading comprehension, vocabulary, essay writing, and literary analysis.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Education or a relevant subject area preferred.
• At least 2 years of teaching or tutoring experience preferred.
• Experience teaching the US curriculum is highly desirable.
• Excellent spoken and written English communication skills.
• Ability to adapt teaching strategies to different grade levels and learning styles.
• Patient, enthusiastic, organized, and passionate about education.
• Comfortable using online teaching platforms such as Zoom, Google Meet, and interactive digital whiteboards.
• Strong time-management skills and a commitment to maintaining a consistent teaching schedule.
• Experience working with homeschooled students is an advantage.

• Reliable high-speed internet connection.
• Laptop or desktop computer with a functioning webcam and microphone.
• Quiet, professional, and distraction-free teaching environment.
• Ability to use digital teaching tools and share interactive learning materials.
