After Effects Motion Designer for YouTube Business Documentaries - Maps, Charts, Infographics
Confidential employer
We're building a YouTube business documentary channel and already have a dedicated video editor. I am NOT looking for normal video editing.
I need a motion graphics specialist who can create polished 5–20 second animations similar to modern YouTube documentary channels: animated maps, graphs, numbers, company comparisons, headlines/documents, timelines, money visualizations, and simple infographic explanations.
References include the following YouTube channels: How Money Works, The Invisible Game, Micro, Wendover Productions and Half as Interesting.
The animations are generally clean and simple rather than extremely complex, but timing, composition, typography and smooth professional motion are very important.
SPECIFIC Examples:
1. ---------- - This video has an animated segment at 0:03, another at 0:35, another at 1:34. All of these are similar to the quality and style that we're aiming for
2. ---------- - This one also has very good animations, at 0:00, 0:53, 1:13.
Initial paid test: Do not do this task unless we hire you please. But the paid task will be to create a short Costco map animation from a detailed brief and references.
If the test is excellent, there will be ongoing occasional work and an opportunity to build reusable animation templates for the channel.
Required: After Effects, strong motion-design fundamentals, excellent easing/timing, maps and infographic experience.
Please send 3 examples most similar to this style. Do not send a generic 30-video editing portfolio.
Application:
1. Please send 3 examples most similar to this style
2. Questions:
a - How much availability do you have per day, usually?
b - Have you worked on similar business documentary or any documentary style work before?
c - Can you build reusable After Effects / Premiere Motion Graphics Templates (.mogrt) where a non-motion-designer can easily swap things like text, numbers, logos, images, graph values, countries, and colors without rebuilding the animation? If yes, please briefly explain how you would approach that.
d - For a polished 5–15 second animation like the references above, what would your typical turnaround time be?
Talk to me like a human please, no AI applications, and no need to be overly formally :) Just looking for a good human who can help here.
Budget: around $5-8/hour depending on skill, or happy to discuss fixed pricing per animation/project.
