About the Role

We're looking for a skilled long-form YouTube video editor who goes beyond generic cuts. This is not a Shorts editor role. We need someone who can take raw footage and turn it into high-retention, visually engaging videos that keep viewers watching to the end.

If you edit on autopilot — straight cuts, no b-roll, no on-screen text, no retention thinking — this isn't the role. We're looking for an editor who treats every video like a retention problem to solve.

What You'll Do
Edit long-form YouTube videos end-to-end in Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or equivalent professional NLE
Use b-roll strategically to illustrate points, cover cuts, and keep the visual pace moving
Add on-screen text, callouts, and graphics that reinforce the message and improve retention
Pace cuts, trim dead space, and shape the narrative flow for maximum watch time
Deliver finished videos ready for upload — color-corrected, audio-balanced, thumbnail-friendly
Collaborate on feedback cycles until each video meets quality standards
What We're Looking For

Required:

Proven long-form YouTube editing experience — this is not a Shorts role
Hands-on experience with Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or similar professional editing software
Strong eye for b-roll selection and placement — knowing when a visual cutaway earns its keep
Skilled at on-screen text and graphics that enhance (not clutter) the video
Understanding of retention mechanics — pacing, hooks, pattern interrupts, visual variety
Excellent English — comfortable understanding native-speaker nuance, humor, and emphasis so edits land correctly
Reliable internet and a workstation capable of handling long-form 4K editing
Ability to meet deadlines consistently

Nice to have (big plus):

Working knowledge of YouTube as a platform — understanding of the algorithm, watch time, CTR, audience retention graphs, chapter markers, end screens, cards, and video SEO
Social media management experience — content scheduling, cross-posting to Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, Facebook ; community management; comment moderation; analytics reporting
Experience uploading and optimizing videos directly on YouTube Studio (titles, descriptions, tags, thumbnails, playlists, metadata)
Ability to repurpose long-form content into Shorts, Reels, and clips for other platforms (bonus workflow skill, not the main role)
Portfolio of long-form YouTube videos you've personally edited (with real view counts)
Experience with specific YouTube niches (education, business, lifestyle, interviews, etc.)
Motion graphics skills (After Effects)
Color grading experience beyond basic correction
Thumbnail design ability
How to Apply

Send your application to: ----------

Include:

  • Updated CV
  • Portfolio of 3–5 long-form YouTube videos you personally edited — direct links, with a note on what you did on each (full edit, b-roll pass, graphics, etc.)
  • Short video intro in English — introduce yourself and walk through your editing process on one of the videos in your portfolio
  • Your software of choice (Premiere, Final Cut, DaVinci, etc.) and years of experience with it
  • If applicable: any YouTube channels or social media accounts you've managed or helped grow — with numbers (subs, views, engagement)
  • Your weekly availability and typical turnaround time for a 10–15 minute long-form video

Applications without a portfolio of long-form work will not be reviewed. Shorts-only portfolios do not qualify.
