About the Role

I am looking for a self-driven YouTube Channel Operator to take ownership of the day-to-day growth and operation of an existing faceless automotive YouTube channel.

The channel, ThrottleDust, focuses on stories about rare, forgotten and abandoned cars, barn finds and unusual automotive discoveries.

Current channel:

  • 103 subscribers
  • 83,000+ lifetime views
  • Around 50 Shorts and 11 long-form videos
  • Existing YouTube Analytics data available
  • Currently not monetized
  • Channel has been inactive for several months

IMPORTANT:

I am NOT looking for someone who simply edits videos or waits for me to provide topics, scripts and instructions.

I am looking for someone who can independently operate and grow the channel.

You will be responsible for:

  • Researching the automotive niche and competitors
  • Finding interesting video topics and opportunities
  • Developing the content strategy
  • Researching each story
  • Creating or managing scripts
  • Creating or managing video production
  • Finding appropriate visuals/footage while respecting usage rights
  • Voice-over production
  • Thumbnails and titles
  • Publishing and YouTube SEO
  • Creating a Shorts strategy
  • Analysing YouTube Analytics
  • Improving CTR, audience retention and watch time
  • Testing new ideas and formats
  • Finding opportunities to grow the channel toward monetization
  • Providing a short monthly report with results, costs, what was done and what you recommend doing next

You do NOT have to personally perform every production task. If you already have an efficient workflow or people you work with for editing, thumbnails, voice-over, etc., tell me about it.

My role is the owner. I will provide the budget, make major financial decisions and review performance. I do not want to manage daily content production.

We will initially start small because this is currently a small, non-monetized channel. If we find a system that works and the channel grows, I am interested in building a long-term working relationship.

TO APPLY:

Please do not send me a generic application.

Start your application with the word "THROTTLE" so I know you read the full job post.

Then answer these questions:

1. Have you previously managed or grown a YouTube channel? Please show examples and explain what YOU were responsible for.
2. Have you worked with faceless YouTube channels?
3. If you were given a dormant automotive channel with 103 subscribers and a limited budget, what would you analyse first?
4. How would you handle research, scripts, editing, thumbnails and voice-over?
5. Approximately what production costs would you expect per long-form video?
6. What would you want access to or know before creating your first 90-day plan?

Please be honest if there are parts of the process you would outsource.

I care more about someone who can think independently, analyse data and make good decisions than someone who simply follows instructions.
