About the Role

We’re looking for a creative, organized, and reliable Social Media Manager to manage the day-to-day social presence for our women’s soccer team.

This role is ideal for someone who understands how to create engaging social content, can move quickly on game days, and knows how to maintain a consistent brand voice while keeping content authentic and engaging.

Responsibilities:

*Game Day Social Media*
Manage live social media coverage during games, primarily across Instagram and X/Twitter.
Create and publish starting lineup posts, kickoff content, goal updates, halftime updates, final scores, and other key moments throughout each match.
Be reliably online and available for scheduled games, regardless of your location or time zone.
React quickly to what is happening during games and turn key moments into timely, engaging content.
Coordinate with photographers and videographers to access photos and video clips for real-time and post-game content.

*Ongoing Content & Community*
Develop and publish content throughout the season, including player features, match promotions, behind-the-scenes content, team announcements, community initiatives, sponsor content, and other relevant posts.
Write captions, headlines, taglines, and short-form copy that fit the team’s voice and feel natural rather than overly corporate or AI-generated.
Help identify creative content ideas and social trends that could be relevant to the team and its audience.
Maintain a consistent posting calendar and brand voice across channels.

*Sponsor & Partnership Content*
Track social media commitments included in sponsorship agreements.
Ensure required sponsor posts, mentions, tags, and promotions are completed accurately and on schedule.
Coordinate sponsor content with the team’s broader social calendar so partnership posts still feel engaging and organic.
Maintain records of completed sponsor deliverables when needed.

*Creative Coordination*
Work closely with photographers, videographers, players, and team leadership to make sure the necessary creative assets are available.
Identify upcoming photo/video needs in advance rather than waiting until the day content needs to be posted.
Turn existing photos and videos into compelling social posts and stories.
Comfortable using tools such as Canva and/or similar content creation platforms is preferred.

*AI & Content Tools*
Comfortable using AI tools to brainstorm, draft, or improve content efficiently.
Strong enough writer and editor to ensure final posts still sound human, original, and appropriate for the team’s voice.
Able to recognize and edit generic or overly AI-generated copy.

*What We’re Looking For*
Experience managing social media accounts for a brand, organization, team, creator, or similar organization.
Strong writing and copywriting skills.
Excellent judgment about what and when to post.
Ability to work quickly and accurately during live sporting events.
Reliable availability during all scheduled games is essential.
Highly organized and able to manage a content calendar and sponsor obligations without constant oversight.
Comfortable collaborating with photographers, videographers, and other creative partners.
Knowledge of Instagram and X/Twitter; experience with additional platforms is a plus.
Interest in soccer and/or women’s sports is strongly preferred.
Previous experience managing social media for a sports team, league, athlete, or sports organization is a major plus, but not required.
