Senior Paid Media Strategist
Confidential employer
Linc Digital is a performance-driven marketing agency based in Perth, Australia. We manage SEO, Paid Media, and Web projects for Australian and international clients across automotive, construction, home services, professional services, and retail.
We are hiring a Senior Paid Media Strategist to own a portfolio of paid advertising accounts end-to end, primarily on Google Ads and Meta Ads. You will collaborate with our Paid Media Team Lead (who focuses on high-spend, high-touch accounts) on cross-account strategy, but your accounts are yours to run.
THE ROLE
You will own day-to-day strategy, execution, and optimisation across a portfolio of paid advertising accounts. You are the strategist for every account you touch: diagnosing performance issues, making optimisation calls, recommending budget shifts backed by data, and escalating risks early with clear reasoning and recommended actions. This means you are not waiting for direction. If a campaign is underperforming, you diagnose it and bring the action plan. If creative is fatiguing, you flag it and request a refresh. If traffic is not converting, you review the landing page and recommend changes. You think commercially about every dollar spent.
This is a long-term opportunity for the right person, with a clear path to increased hours and responsibility as the agency grows.
Core Responsibilities
- Campaign Strategy, Management & Optimisation
- Manage Google Ads and Meta Ads campaigns across multiple client accounts simultaneously.
- Monitor daily performance and optimise for CPA, ROAS, CTR, CPC, and conversion rate.
- Structure and execute testing plans (creative, audiences, bidding strategies, placements).
- Identify scaling opportunities and recommend budget adjustments with supporting data.
- Understand how to reallocate spend based on efficiency (CPA) and real-world factors (e.g. stock availability, seasonal demand, offer changes).
- Proactively flag underperforming campaigns early with clear context, root-cause analysis, and recommended actions.
- Recognise creative fatigue signals (frequency, CTR decline, rising CPM) and proactively initiate creative refresh requests with clear direction for the design team.
Conversion Tracking & Technical Ownership
- Own conversion tracking end-to-end. This is a core requirement, not a nice-to-have. You must be confident with GA4, GTM,
- Enhanced Conversions, offline conversion imports, and attribution modelling.
- Own pixel installation, Enhanced Conversions setup, and tracking troubleshooting. If something is flagged, it gets resolved immediately, not left open.
- Ensure correct tracking and conversion setup alignment across all accounts (GA4, GTM, conversion events, call tracking platforms).
- Build and maintain clean, conversion-focused campaign structures.
- Maintain naming conventions and internal organisation standards.
Strategic Analysis & Reporting
- When performance shifts (positive or negative), provide genuine strategic context: not just metrics, but why it happened and what to do next.
- Deliver monthly reports with period-over-period comparisons, actionable insights, and clear next steps.
- Go beyond surface-level reporting. Understand each client's funnel, conversion setup, and lead sources well enough to provide informed, business-aware commentary.
- Think like a digital strategist, not a task executor. If conversions drop 50%, we need your diagnosis and action plan, not just the numbers.
CRO & Landing Page Awareness
- Review landing pages when traffic is not converting and recommend specific improvements.
- Understand the full conversion path: ad → landing page → form/call → lead quality. Your job does not end at the click.
- Use tools like Microsoft Clarity or GA4 behaviour data to support CRO recommendations with evidence, not assumptions.
Quality Assurance
- Double-check every campaign element before submission: final URLs, ad copy, targeting, budgets, conversion actions, and tracking.
- Errors caught in review (wrong URLs, incorrect ad accounts, misaligned landing pages) reflect directly on your work. We expect a near-zero error rate on basics.
- Cross-reference reports for accuracy before delivery: correct date ranges, matching metrics, proper comparisons.
Internal Process & Communication
- Maintain strong ClickUp task hygiene: accurate statuses, clear optimisation notes, time logged daily.
- Respond to internal mentions within 1-2 hours during core working hours.
- Escalate issues early. Ask for clarification proactively when requirements are unclear rather than making assumptions.
- Communicate in your own voice with genuine understanding. We will know if you are just pasting AI outputs without reviewing them.
Required Experience
- 3-5+ years hands-on Google Ads experience in an agency or multi-account environment (not BPO or single-account management).
- 3-5+ years hands-on Meta Ads experience.
- Proven experience managing multiple ad accounts simultaneously with different goals and budgets.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently without needing every optimisation reviewed before implementation.
- Strong conversion tracking capability (GA4, GTM, Enhanced Conversions, pixel troubleshooting). This is non-negotiable.
- Strong understanding of campaign structure, funnel strategy, performance metrics, and attribution.
- Experience writing direct-response ad copy.
- Comfortable managing budgets ranging from small to mid-size accounts.
- Track record of proactively identifying and resolving performance issues, not just reporting them.
Nice to Have
- Google Ads Certification
- Meta Blueprint Certification
- Experience with Performance Max, YouTube Ads, or Bing/Microsoft Ads
- Familiarity with GA4, GTM, and Looker Studio
- Experience with PPC tools (Opteo, Ryze, or similar)
- Experience with additional platforms (LinkedIn, TikTok)
- CRO experience: able to review landing pages and recommend conversion improvements backed by data
- Experience with call tracking platforms (e.g. CallRail, WildJar)
What This Role Requires
- 4-6 hours per day (consistent availability required, with a path to full-time for the right person)
- Strong written English
- Reliable internet and workspace
- High attention to detail (this is non-negotiable)
- Ability to work without constant direction or validation
- Comfort using ClickUp for all communication and task tracking
- Willingness to own mistakes, learn fast, and improve continuously
What Success Looks Like
- Campaigns run smoothly without constant oversight or QA intervention.
- Performance issues are raised by you before the Director finds them.
- Reports include genuine strategic insight, not just metrics.
- Clean, error-free work: correct URLs, accurate tracking, proper campaign structure.
- Clear testing roadmap in place across accounts.
- Structured, data-backed optimisation decisions with documented reasoning.
- Budget recommendations are informed by performance data and real-world commercial context.
- Creative refresh requests are initiated proactively when fatigue signals appear.
- Significant reduction in Director time spent reviewing and correcting work.
This Role Is Not For You If
- You rely on AI to generate reports and responses without genuinely understanding the data.
- You need every optimisation decision reviewed by someone senior before acting.
- You struggle to explain why performance changed, not just what changed.
- You only have experience in a structured BPO or call-centre environment without strategic decision-making.
- You need daily step-by-step instructions.
- You only have experience boosting posts.
- You struggle managing multiple accounts independently.
- You cannot independently set up or troubleshoot conversion tracking.
