Operations Assistant & Researcher – Tourism Startup

About the Role:
We are launching an exciting new outdoor prospecting and heritage tour company in Australia and need a sharp, resourceful remote operations assistant to help get us off the ground. This is an immediate start job with a great company, offering the chance to build something from the ground up and grow alongside the business.
You will be the backbone of our initial setup phase, handling everything from supplier logistics to our initial digital presence.

Key Responsibilities:
Procurement: Research and secure high-quality prospecting equipment, including metal detectors, panning kits, and sluice boxes.
Supplier Relations: Contact Australian suppliers via email and phone to negotiate pricing, establish trade accounts, and secure inventory.
Digital Setup: Create, set up, and optimise our business Facebook page to attract local tourists and families.
Market Research: Conduct competitor and keyword research to identify what our target audience is searching for and how we can stand out in the Australian tourism market.

Requirements:
Proven experience as a Virtual Assistant, Operations Assistant, or in B2B procurement.
Excellent written and spoken English for communicating directly with Australian wholesalers.
Highly organised, capable of independent research, and comfortable working autonomously.
Basic understanding of social media setup and local SEO research.
