About the Role

Caring Transitions is seeking a dependable Auction Listing Assistant for an ongoing remote position supporting our CTBids online auctions.

Our onsite team photographs auction items and assigns each lot a SKU number. You will receive the photos and SKU and handle the remaining cataloging work: photo editing, item research, titles, descriptions, and entry into CTBids.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Organize photos by auction and SKU, keeping every item matched correctly.
  • Improve photos through cropping, straightening, exposure adjustments, and accurate color correction.
  • Preserve the item’s actual appearance. Never remove damage, hide wear, or generate details that are not present.
  • Research items using photographs, maker’s marks, labels, and model numbers.
  • Write clear, accurate titles and descriptions covering the lot’s contents and visible condition.
  • Upload photos and enter titles, descriptions, SKUs, categories, and other required information into CTBids.
  • Follow our auction settings and shipping instructions.
  • Check completed listings for accuracy, missing photos, and duplicate SKUs.
  • Flag missing information or uncertain identification rather than guessing.

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Experience creating listings for eBay, Etsy, auctions, or similar platforms. Experience with used items, antiques, and collectibles is especially helpful.
  • Strong written English and attention to detail.
  • Photo editing experience using Photoshop, Lightroom, Photopea, or comparable software.
  • Strong online research skills.
  • Reliable computer and internet connection.
  • Ability to manage batches of items and meet agreed deadlines.

CTBids experience is a plus, but we will provide platform training. AI tools may assist with research and writing, but you must verify the results. Never invent brands, materials, measurements, authenticity, or working condition.

POSITION DETAILS

  • Remote, part-time: initially 20 hours per week.
  • Proposed pay: $6–$9 USD per hour, depending on experience and demonstrated skills.
  • Potential for additional hours as auction volume grows.
  • Some availability for communication during Texas business hours.
  • Short paid skills test for shortlisted applicants.
