About the Role

Metarom Steel is a structural steel fabricator in Melbourne, Australia. We're setting up a new reinforcement processing division that will make reo cages for footings, precast panels, beams, columns and bored piers. We're looking for an experienced reo scheduler to work with our team as the division grows.

What you'll do

Read Australian structural engineering drawings: plans, sections and details.
Prepare bar bending schedules to AS 3600 and AS/NZS 4671, using bar marks, Australian shape codes, laps, cogs, cover and bend diameters.
Schedule reinforcement for footings, slabs, beams, columns, precast and tilt panels, and bored pier cages.
Split bars to stock lengths (6 m / 12 m) and keep offcuts to a minimum.
Prepare cage assembly drawings and marking plans.
Produce tonnage summaries by bar size for estimating and ordering.
Export schedules for CNC machines (BVBS or CSV) once our machinery is installed.

Must have

At least 2 years' experience scheduling reinforcement for Australian projects, ideally for an Australian reinforcing processor or detailing company.
Solid knowledge of AS 3600 detailing rules and Australian bar sizes (N10–N40) and shape codes.
Experience with reo scheduling software, such as RebarCAD, aSa, Tekla (rebar) or similar.
AutoCAD.
Good written English, accuracy and attention to detail.
Available to work during Melbourne business hours (roughly 6am–3pm Philippine time).
Reliable internet and your own computer.

Nice to have

Precast or tilt panel reinforcement experience.
Bored pier and pile cage scheduling.
Estimating and quantity take-offs for tenders.
Revit or Tekla 3D rebar modelling.
Some structural steel detailing experience.

How to apply

Start your application with the word "N16" so we know you've read this post.
Tell us which Australian companies or projects you've scheduled for, and roughly how many tonnes per month you usually schedule.
List the scheduling software you use.
Attach 1–2 sample bar schedules or drawings, with confidential details removed.

Shortlisted applicants will be given a paid test job: scheduling a small set of Australian beam cages or footings from engineer's drawings.
