About the Role

3D Mesh Modeler / STL Designer for CNC-Carved Signs

Remote | Philippines | $4 USD per hour | Project-Based to Full-Time

We are a U.S. business creating custom signs, business signage, and personalized products. We are expanding production of HDU (high-density urethane) signage and other 3D-carved signs and are looking for a skilled, dependable 3D modeler to grow with our company.

About the Role

You will convert vector artwork and 3D scans into clean, detailed 3D mesh models and STL files suitable for CNC carving. Projects may include business logos, lettering, decorative reliefs, dimensional signs, and custom designs.

This position starts with individual projects, with hours limited to available work. As production grows, we expect the role to increase to 10–20 hours per week, then potentially 40 hours per week, with additional overtime opportunities as needed. Increased hours will depend on workload, performance, and company growth.

Responsibilities

  • Convert vector files, including SVG, AI, EPS, DXF, and vector PDFs, into dimensional models and relief designs.
  • Clean up and refine 3D scans, repairing holes, artifacts, and mesh issues.
  • Create accurate STL files with the correct dimensions, scale, depth, and detail for CNC carving.
  • Design with practical carving requirements in mind, including material thickness, tool access, and achievable detail.
  • Provide preview images for review and make requested revisions.
  • Deliver final STL files and editable source files with organized filenames.
  • Communicate progress, questions, estimated hours, and deadlines clearly.
  • Keep customer artwork, company files, and project information confidential.

Required Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in 3D mesh modeling and STL creation.
  • Experience converting vector artwork or 3D scans into usable 3D models.
  • A portfolio showing relevant work, preferably relief carvings, dimensional logos, signage, or CNC-ready models.
  • Proficiency in suitable modeling software, such as Blender, ZBrush, Rhino, Aspire, ArtCAM, or comparable tools.
  • Understanding of mesh quality, file scaling, and preparing models for CNC carving.
  • Fluent English communication, both written and spoken.
  • Strong attention to detail, reliable follow-through, and willingness to accept feedback.
  • Reliable internet access and a computer capable of handling the required software and files.

Experience with HDU signage and CNC relief carving is strongly preferred.

Pay and Working Terms

  • Rate: $4 USD per hour.
  • Payment: Biweekly through Wise.
  • Initial schedule: Project-based, with no guaranteed minimum weekly hours.
  • Growth opportunity: Potential progression to 10–20 hours per week and eventually 40 hours per week as production increases.
  • A signed contractor agreement and nondisclosure agreement (NDA) are required before work begins.
  • You must be able to receive payments through Wise.
  • Work hours and project progress must be recorded accurately.

We are looking for someone interested in building a long-term working relationship and growing with our team and company.
