JOB POSITION: ESTIMATOR & PROJECT COORDINATOR

Location: Philippines — Work from Home
Employment: Full-Time, Long-Term
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–4:00 PM Pacific Standard Time (Vancouver)
Hours: 35 hours/week
Salary: $600–$1,000 USD/month, depending on experience and qualifications

ABOUT ECHO GLAZING LTD.

Echo Glazing Ltd. is a commercial glazing contractor based in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
We have been in business for over 40 years and specialize in commercial glass and aluminum construction.
We are currently looking for a full-time Estimator & Project Coordinator in the Philippines to work directly with the owner of the company.
This is intended to be a long-term position for the right person.
You will work closely with me every day through webcam, screen sharing, email , phone and online project-management tools.
This is not a basic data-entry or general virtual assistant position.
You will become part of our estimating and project-management team.

THE JOB

Echo Glazing is invited to bid approximately 5–10 commercial glass projects every month throughout the Vancouver, British Columbia area.
Your primary responsibility will be assisting with glass and aluminum quantity takeoffs and estimating from architectural drawings.
You will work directly with me to review drawings, determine quantities, organize estimates and prepare projects for bidding.
Once we are awarded a project, your responsibilities will expand into project planning, budgeting, purchasing, design, drawings and scheduling.
We will work together as a team.
The goal is to build a strong long-term working relationship and grow the company quickly.

ESTIMATING RESPONSIBILITIES

You will learn and assist with estimating commercial glazing projects, including:

• Curtain wall
• Aluminum storefront
• Glass
• Glass canopies
• Glass guardrails
• Frameless all-glass doors
• Aluminum swing doors
• Sliding doors
• Commercial entrance systems
• Aluminum framing
• Door hardware
• Glass hardware
• Sealants and related materials

Your estimating responsibilities will include:

• Reviewing architectural drawings
• Reading floor plans and elevations
• Reviewing architectural details
• Performing glass quantity takeoffs
• Performing aluminum quantity takeoffs
• Counting doors and openings
• Measuring dimensions
• Creating Excel takeoff sheets
• Organizing project quantities
• Requesting supplier quotations
• Comparing supplier pricing
• Preparing estimates
• Updating pricing
• Tracking bids
• Following up on quotations
• Preparing bid submissions

You will be trained in our specific estimating process.
You do not need to be an expert in commercial glazing when you start, but you must be comfortable learning technical information and reading architectural drawings.

PROJECT COORDINATION

When Echo Glazing is awarded a project, you will also assist with project coordination.
Responsibilities will include:

PROJECT PLANNING

• Review contract documents
• Review architectural drawings
• Create project schedules
• Identify required materials
• Identify long-lead items
• Create project checklists
• Track project deadlines
• Coordinate with suppliers
• Track outstanding information

PURCHASING

Assist with purchasing:

• Aluminum
• Curtain wall
• Storefront
• Glass
• Doors
• Door hardware
• Glass hardware
• Sealants
• Membranes
• Other project materials

You will communicate with suppliers and help track:
What was ordered → when it was ordered → when it is expected → where it needs to go → whether it has arrived.

BUDGETING

Assist with:

• Project budgets
• Material costs
• Supplier quotations
• Purchase orders
• Cost tracking
• Project changes
• Comparing estimated costs to actual costs

DESIGN / DRAWINGS

Assist with basic design and drafting using AutoCAD.
You may work with:

• Shop drawings
• Door drawings
• Aluminum details
• Glass details
• Field dimensions
• Architectural drawings
• Fabrication information

SCHEDULING

Help maintain project schedules and coordinate:

• Glass deliveries
• Aluminum deliveries
• Door deliveries
• Hardware
• Site readiness
• Installation requirements
• Supplier lead times

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

You should have experience with:

MICROSOFT OFFICE

• Microsoft Excel — REQUIRED
• Microsoft Word
• Microsoft Outlook

DRAWING / PDF SOFTWARE

• AutoCAD — REQUIRED
• Adobe Acrobat Pro — REQUIRED
• Experience working with architectural drawings

AI

• Basic experience using ChatGPT or other AI tools
• Ability to write basic AI prompts
• Interest in learning how AI can be used to improve estimating and project management

You do not need to be an AI expert.
You simply need to be comfortable using AI and willing to learn.

You will be communicating directly with me every day.

WORKING HOURS

This is a full-time position.

MONDAY – FRIDAY

9:00 AM – 4:00 PM Pacific Time
This corresponds to evening/night hours in the Philippines.
You must be able to consistently work these hours.
Because you will be working directly with me through webcam, being available during these hours is a requirement.

Starting salary:

$600–$1,000 USD PER MONTH
