Amazon PPC Specialist – UK Brands (Full Ownership)
Confidential employer
ABOUT US
We're a UK e-commerce business selling seasonal food gift hampers, mainly on Amazon UK. We run several established brands, and we also sell on TikTok Shop and Shopify, with plans to grow on other platforms over time.
The business is highly seasonal. Q4 is our peak and July–August is the quietest stretch of the year. Anyone working on our ads needs to understand that a sales jump is not always an ad win, and a dip is not always an ad failure.
You'll join an established remote team, including other Philippine-based VAs. We're building automated performance reporting, so over time less of your day will go on building spreadsheets by hand.
THE ROLE
We're hiring a full-time Amazon PPC Manager to take full ownership of our Amazon UK advertising across Sponsored Products, Sponsored Brands and Sponsored Display. Over time the role extends to TikTok Shop and Shopify ads, and to Google Ads as we grow on other platforms.
Success means more total profit after advertising, product costs, Amazon fees and fulfilment costs, while hitting agreed sales and stock targets. Sometimes that means cutting sales that lose money. Sometimes it means spending more where it earns more.
This is not a button-pushing role. We want an operator who can tell us: here's where we're wasting money, here's where more spend would earn more profit, and here's the evidence and the test that will show whether I'm right.
In practice, that means you:
- Spot problems and opportunities yourself, without being pointed to each ASIN.
- Check price, margin, stock and conversion before blaming bids.
- Propose and carry out changes within agreed limits.
- Track your tests, recognise mistakes and recommend reversals.
- Give us a short weekly report built around decisions, not pages of unexplained metrics.
- Handle routine work yourself and escalate material issues promptly.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
The work has two parts that run at the same time: improving what's live today, and gradually evolving the account structure where it gives us better control.
Day-to-day optimisation
- Squeeze extra profitable sales from best sellers with careful bid, placement and budget changes.
- Cut wasted spend on loss-making campaigns, keywords and placements.
- Investigate listings that are below their sales or profit targets. Work out whether the cause is ad coverage, bids, demand, price, listing quality, reviews or stock before recommending changes.
- Cross-reference winning search terms across genuinely related products, and use our own listings to advertise complementary products.
- Harvest search terms, add negatives, and adjust bids from the data.
- Review performance each working day, including alerts from our automated reporting as it comes online, check important findings against the source data, and act or escalate where needed. Note when no change is justified.
Evolving the campaign structure
- Keep productive existing campaigns, and introduce ASIN-level campaigns where separate bids, budgets or reporting would improve control and profitability.
- Expand into Sponsored Brands and Sponsored Display where they add value.
- Use our historical data to set starting keywords and bids, then run controlled tests with fixed budgets and stop rules.
- Make changes in stages with a clear transition and rollback plan. Use parallel testing where appropriate, controlling overlapping targeting and combined spend.
- Challenge our framework when the evidence says something else would work better.
Seasonality and discipline
- Prepare campaigns ahead of Q4 and other seasonal peaks, and scale back sensibly afterwards.
- Check stock before increasing spend, and flag when listings, pricing or reviews are holding ads back.
- Judge results using year-over-year seasonal comparisons alongside recent matched weekdays, pre-change baselines and controlled tests.
- Independently adjust bids, placements and campaign budgets within agreed spending limits. Owner approval is needed to raise the total account spending limit, exceed agreed test limits or make a major restructure.
- Log every significant change: the reason, the baseline, the expected outcome, a review date and how to roll it back.
- Send a short weekly summary: ad spend, attributed sales, total sales and units, total profit after agreed costs, ACoS, TACoS, product-level winners and losers, changes made, and next decisions.
WHAT'S ALREADY IN PLACE
You won't be starting from a blank account. You'll have:
- A defined campaign framework: the structure, what each campaign type does and why.
- Extensive historical data: search terms, conversions and seasonal sales patterns to build keywords and bids from.
- Automated reporting (in development): we're building our own in-house PPC analytics software, with performance reports and alerts, to better support this role. You'll help shape it, and always check its findings against the source data before acting.
- Direct access to the owner: quick decisions and context on the business when you need it.
Campaigns, keywords and bids are already live. Your job is to audit their performance, keep what works, fix the gaps and take ownership of ongoing optimisation.
WHO YOU ARE
Must have
- 3+ years independently owning Amazon PPC, setting keywords and bids from your own analysis.
- Hands-on experience with Sponsored Products, Sponsored Brands and Sponsored Display.
- Managed advertising through at least one Q4 peak, ideally with a significant monthly budget.
- Confident with Amazon Ads bulk files, search term reports and spreadsheets.
- A strong grasp of profit after ad spend, ACoS, TACoS and conversion rate, and how they relate.
- You check data before trusting it: you can tell actual CPC from set bids, campaign results from ASIN results, attributed sales from total sales, and missing data from zero activity.
- Evidence of results, with a clear explanation of what you personally did.
- Clear, honest written English, including when something didn't work, or when the right answer is to change nothing.
- Careful and organised: consistent naming, tidy budgets, and a change log you keep up.
Seasonal judgement (essential)
You understand that in a seasonal business, a sales jump at peak doesn't mean your bid change caused it. You use year-over-year comparisons, pre-change baselines, TACoS and organic rank to separate real ad impact from seasonal demand, price changes and stock.
Strongly preferred
Amazon is the focus, but we're growing Shopify and TikTok Shop next. We'd love someone who has at least some hands-on exposure to:
- TikTok Shop ads (GMV Max or product shopping ads).
- Driving paid traffic to a Shopify store, through Meta, Google Shopping or Google Ads.
You don't need to be an expert in these yet. We want someone who can grow into them as we expand.
Nice to have
- Experience with seasonal, food or gifting products.
- Comfortable using AI tools in your workflow.
HOURS AND WORKING SETUP
Full-time, 40 hours a week, Monday to Friday, 9:00–17:00 Lithuania time:
- Philippine time: 14:00–22:00 until late October, then 15:00–23:00 through the winter (Lithuania changes its clocks; the Philippines doesn't).
- UK time: 07:00–15:00, covering the UK business morning.
Fully remote. You'll need a reliable computer, stable internet and a backup connection. Day to day you'll work in Seller Central, Amazon Ads bulk files and our own in-house software.
During Q4 peak we may occasionally ask for flexibility around key dates in the run-up to Christmas.
PAY AND PERFORMANCE BONUS
Pay is a fixed monthly salary plus a performance bonus. The better you do, the more you earn.
- Fixed pay: PHP 60,000–70,000 per month, depending on demonstrated ability, paid in PHP, that doesn't depend on the bonus.
- Performance bonus: up to PHP 20,000 per month once you pass your 3-month probation, calculated monthly from a clear formula and paid quarterly.
- What the bonus rewards: one main measure, total profit after advertising and costs, with agreed sales and stock targets and good working practices as safeguards.
- How it's measured: against agreed seasonal baselines that account for pricing, stock and other decisions outside your control, so you're rewarded for your own impact and not penalised or overpaid for the season.
- 13th-month pay on your fixed salary.
- Paid leave: 1 day per month, accrued, plus Christmas Day, New Year's Day and selected Philippine national holidays.
- Pay reviews: yearly, and when you successfully take ownership of additional channels.
The probation review criteria, the bonus formula and worked examples are agreed in writing before you start.

2. How do you d ---------- the starting bid for a new exact-match keyword? Walk us through your reasoning.
3. A gift hamper's sales are up 40% this January compared with December, after you cut its bids. What would you conclude, and what would you check first?
