Location: New York City, NY | Remote Position | Philippines or Similar Time Zone Preferred

We’re looking for a talented short-form video editor to work directly with me on a high-performing social media page. We create content designed to capture attention immediately, maintain viewer retention, and perform exceptionally well on TikTok and Instagram Reels.

This is not a basic video-cutting role. I’m looking for someone who understands how to transform raw footage into polished, engaging UGC videos through creative hooks, high-level overlays, seamless transitions, and professional visual storytelling.

What You’ll Be Doing

Hook optimization: Make the first 1–3 seconds compelling through strong opening cuts, text, visuals, and creative editing that immediately captures attention.

High-level overlays: Incorporate relevant images, screenshots, graphics, headlines, pop-ups, and other visual elements that reinforce the message and keep viewers engaged.

Professional transitions: Create smooth, intentional transitions between clips, images, and scenes. The goal is a polished, dynamic flow—not basic cuts between talking-head footage.

Dynamic editing: Use punch-ins, zooms, reframing, motion effects, speed adjustments, and creative visual techniques to maintain attention.

B-roll and visual storytelling: Understand the dialogue, identify the key points, and pair the audio with relevant supporting footage and imagery.

Retention-focused pacing: Remove dead space, emphasize important moments, and keep the content moving without sacrificing clarity.

Creative independence: Bring your own ideas and editing style to the content while following the general direction and quality standards of the page.

My biggest priorities are hooks, overlays, images, and transitions. I want someone who knows how to make a video feel visually rich, professional, and engaging. Simply adding captions and cutting out pauses is not enough.

Dynamic pacing, strategic zooms, and engaging visual changes.

Relevant B-roll and supporting visuals that complement the dialogue.

Overall polish, professionalism, and suitability for TikTok and Instagram Reels.

Don't simply copy my video. Show me how you would elevate the content using your own ideas, particularly when it comes to hooks, overlays, transitions, and visual storytelling.

Requirements

Strong experience with CapCut or comparable video editing software.

Previous experience editing TikTok videos, Instagram Reels, or short-form UGC content.

Excellent understanding of hooks, overlays, transitions, pacing, and audience retention.

Strong English comprehension and attention to detail.

Ability to independently interpret dialogue and select appropriate supporting visuals.

Strong internet connection and reliable communication.

Ability to work collaboratively, take constructive feedback, and improve quickly.

Availability for approximately 3–4 hours per day, 5–6 days per week. Days off are flexible, provided your schedule remains consistent.

Ability to receive payments through Wise.

Based in the Philippines or a similar time zone.

Compensation & Growth Opportunity

There is room for performance-based bonuses when deadlines are met and content performs well. As the workload grows, there is also potential for additional hours and increased compensation.
