About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented, highly analytical Property Accountant to join our team supporting the RCG Portfolio. In this role, you will oversee multi-entity property accounting, maintain accurate financial records, and manage tenant billing operations across commercial and multi-family real estate assets.

Working directly with AV Leads and Property Managers, you will ensure total ledger accuracy, execute timely bank reconciliations, manage lease financials, and deliver thorough month-end reporting packages tailored to RCG’s operational standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Property Accounting & Bookkeeping:
Maintain accurate general ledgers across assigned properties and corporate entities. Execute daily cash management, monitor account balances, perform multi-account bank reconciliations, process AP/AR transactions, and drive month-end and year-end close routines (journal entries, accruals, prepaid schedules).

Tenant Management & Revenue Recovery:
Oversee complex tenant recovery operations, including calculating and billing Common Area Maintenance (CAM), real estate tax reimbursements, and insurance/utility pass-throughs. Track security deposits, manage lease renewals, monitor delinquencies, and lead collection efforts.

Lease Financial Management & Abstracting:
Review new and modified lease agreements to verify accounting system schedules against contractual terms. Maintain a centralized lease abstract database tracking key renewal dates, percentage rent clauses, CAM caps, and audit rights.

Portfolio Reporting & PM Support:
Partner with Property and Asset Managers to deliver monthly financial reporting packages (Balance Sheets, Income Statements, Budget-vs.-Actual variance analyses), as well as compliance reports for lenders and investors.

Qualifications & Requirements:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Professional Experience: 3+ years in property accounting, real estate bookkeeping, or multi-entity financial management across commercial, retail, or multi-family real estate assets.

Software Proficiency:
Hands-on experience with real estate accounting software (e.g., AppFolio, Yardi Voyager, MRI Software, or QuickBooks Online).

CAM & Tax Reconciliations:
Proven expertise executing annual CAM, property tax, and insurance reconciliations for commercial tenants.
Advanced Excel & Analytical Skills: Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency (VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, Pivot Tables, financial modeling).

Communication & Remote Work Style:
Exceptional written and spoken English, meticulous attention to detail, and a self-motivated ability to independently manage multi-property deadlines during monthly close cycles.
