About the Role

We are an Australian fitness company preparing to launch a new premium gym and wellness concept in Sydney.

We are looking for a senior Performance Marketing Specialist based in the Philippines to take ownership of our paid customer acquisition across Google Ads and Meta Ads.

This is not a VA role, social media posting role or junior media-buyer position.

We are looking for someone who understands the entire paid acquisition process:
Strategy → campaign → creative testing → landing page → lead → CRM → paying member → CAC

You will work directly with the business owners.

We already have professional Australian partners handling our branding, website, high-end photography/video production and ongoing social/content creation. You will not be expected to create all of the content yourself.

Your job is to determine how we use paid media to acquire members efficiently, identify what is and isn't working, and tell our creative team what additional ads/assets should be produced based on performance.

Your responsibilities

You will own our Google Ads and Meta Ads performance.
Google Ads
You should be highly experienced with:

  • Google Search campaigns
  • Keyword research and search-intent analysis
  • Competitor research
  • Negative keyword management
  • Match-type strategy
  • Campaign/ad-group structure
  • Ad copy and testing
  • Bidding strategy
  • Budget allocation
  • Conversion tracking
  • Remarketing
  • Local customer acquisition
  • Google Business Profile/local considerations
  • Ongoing search-term analysis and optimisation

We do not want someone who simply creates campaigns and checks them once per week.
We expect active optimisation and strategic recommendations.

Meta Ads
You should be highly experienced with:

  • Facebook and Instagram advertising
  • Lead-generation and conversion campaigns
  • Prospecting
  • Retargeting
  • Audience testing
  • Creative testing
  • Hooks, angles and messaging
  • Lead forms vs landing pages
  • Campaign structure
  • Budget optimisation
  • Pixel + Conversions API
  • Creative performance analysis

You should be able to look at campaign data and tell our content team:
“We need three more variations of this concept.”
or:
“This message is converting significantly better. Let's produce more content around this angle.”
You don't need to personally film or professionally design the content.
Strategy

We are specifically looking for someone who can think beyond Ads Manager.
We want your input on:

  • Customer/audience segmentation
  • Competitor advertising
  • Membership acquisition offers
  • Pre-opening campaigns
  • Foundation-member campaigns
  • Launch campaigns
  • Lead-generation funnels
  • Landing pages
  • Retargeting strategy
  • Channel budget allocation
  • Creative testing strategy
  • Conversion-rate optimisation
  • Lead quality
  • Cost per lead
  • Cost per appointment/tour
  • Cost per paying member
  • Customer acquisition cost (CAC)

If you only report impressions, clicks, CTR and CPL, this position is probably not suitable.
Our primary goal is profitable paying members, not cheap leads.
Tracking & attribution

Strong experience with the following is highly desirable:

  • Google Analytics 4
  • Google Tag Manager
  • Google Ads conversion tracking
  • Enhanced Conversions
  • Meta Pixel
  • Meta Conversions API
  • CRM conversion tracking
  • Offline conversion tracking
  • Looker Studio/reporting

Our membership-management platform is GymMaster.
We want to build attribution as far through the funnel as reasonably possible so we can understand:
Ad → Lead → Tour/Trial → Paid Membership

Experience connecting advertising platforms with CRMs or membership-management systems is highly desirable.
You do not necessarily need previous GymMaster experience if you have strong experience implementing similar CRM/offline conversion tracking.

Experience we're looking for

Ideally you have:

  • 5+ years hands-on performance marketing experience
  • Strong Google Ads experience
  • Strong Meta Ads experience
  • Experience with Australian businesses/consumers
  • Local lead-generation experience
  • Experience managing campaigns yourself, not only supervising junior staff
  • Experience with GA4/GTM/tracking
  • Experience analysing landing pages/funnels
  • Excellent written and spoken English
  • Strong analytical skills

Experience working for an Australian digital/performance marketing agency would be particularly valuable.
Experience with any of the following industries is also highly desirable:
Gyms, fitness studios, Pilates, wellness, health clubs, allied health, membership businesses or multi-location businesses.
Former Google/Meta agency or platform experience is also welcome, but demonstrable results matter more to us than job titles.

Our initial advertising budget
Initial paid media budget will likely be approximately:
A$3,000–A$5000+ per month
across Google and Meta.

This can increase substantially if we establish a profitable and scalable member acquisition model.
We are not looking to artificially restrict advertising spend. If campaigns demonstrate an acceptable cost per acquired member, we are prepared to scale.

This will initially be for one Sydney location, with the possibility of additional locations in the future.
Working arrangement

We are open to either:

Part-time ongoing employment
or
a fixed monthly retainer for the right senior candidate.

We are not looking for a full-service agency.

We want a skilled individual who can work directly with us and become our long-term paid acquisition specialist.
You will have access to the required advertising and analytics accounts through appropriate user permissions. Our company will retain ownership of all accounts, data and advertising assets.

How to apply

Please do NOT send a generic ChatGPT-generated cover letter.
Start your application with the words:
SYDNEY FITNESS
so we know you have read the entire job description.

Then answer the following:
1. How many years have you personally managed Google Ads?
2. How many years have you personally managed Meta Ads?
3. Have you managed campaigns targeting Australian customers? Give examples.
4. Have you worked for an Australian marketing agency? If yes, which type of clients did you manage?
5. Have you managed advertising for a gym, fitness studio, Pilates studio, wellness business or membership business? Please explain.
6. What is the approximate largest monthly advertising budget you have personally managed?
7. Give us one example of a lead-generation campaign where you can provide actual results. Include spend, leads/conversions and CPA/CAC where possible.
8. Explain your experience with GA4, GTM, Google conversion tracking, Meta Pixel and CAPI.
9. Have you implemented offline/CRM conversion tracking so Google or Meta can optimise toward actual customers rather than just leads?
10. Imagine we are opening a premium gym in Sydney in approximately 8 weeks. We have a professional website, high-quality photo/video assets and a A$6,000/month paid-media budget. In a few paragraphs, explain how you would approach the launch across Google and Meta.

Please also provide:

  • Your OnlineJobs.ph profile
  • CV/resume
  • Relevant case studies
  • Your expected monthly compensation/retainer
  • Hours available per week
  • Current number of clients/employers
  • Earliest available start date

We are looking for someone interested in a long-term relationship, not simply someone to set up campaigns.
If you're excellent at performance marketing but don't personally create videos or graphic design, that's completely fine.

We already have professional creative resources.

What we need from you is the ability to determine:
Who should we target?
What should we advertise?
Where should we spend?
Which creative is working?
Why is it working?
What should we test next?
Which channel produces actual paying members?
How can we reduce member acquisition cost and scale?

If that's how you think about performance marketing, we'd like to hear from you.
