About Acraya
Acraya builds sanctuaries for spiritual wanderers: a global network of dark retreat sanctuaries where guests spend several days in complete, sustained darkness. It is a contemplative practice with a thousand-year lineage in Tibetan Bön and Dzogchen, Taoist, and ceremonial traditions, delivered with modern design, safety, and care. Our first sanctuary, in the Diamante Valley of Costa Rica, is open and welcoming guests. Bali opens in 2027, Nepal is in development at a living Bön monastery, and we are bringing on partner properties around the world.
Content is how we reach the people who matter most to us: serious practitioners and wellness travelers, most of whom don’t
yet know this practice exists in a form this considered; teachers, facilitators, and creators who can carry the story to their own
communities; and wellness properties that want to host a sanctuary of their own. We are on podcasts, hosting teachers and
creators at our sanctuaries, and producing film in Costa Rica, Bali, and Nepal. You will be the person who turns all of that
footage into finished work.
The role
You will be Acraya’s first dedicated editor and will own the post-production pipeline end to end: short-form social video,
podcast and interview content (full episodes and clips), longer-form brand and sanctuary film, and still image editing for
social, web, and partner materials. You’ll work from a clear brand system (typography, palette, motion language, and
templates) and from raw footage delivered by our team, contract shooters, and creator partners at our sanctuaries.
There is one creative problem at the heart of this job: a dark retreat can’t be filmed. The experience happens where no camera can see. Our story is told through place, light, sound, silence, and the words of people who have just come out of the dark. If that problem excites you, keep reading.
This is a hands-on, high-volume editing seat, not a strategy role. We are looking for someone who is fast, has refined taste, can hold a luxury aesthetic without tipping into clinical or crunchy, and can run a repeatable weekly production calendar with
minimal supervision.
What you’ll do
S O C I A L M E D I A V I D E O ( ≈ 4 0 % )
- Cut 8–12 short-form vertical videos per week (Instagram Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts) from podcast appearances,
guest and facilitator interviews, sanctuary footage, and creator content.
- Add on-brand captions, hooks, text overlays, b-roll, and restrained motion graphics; format for each platform’s specs and
safe zones.
- Turn around same-day edits when a timely moment calls for it.
P O D C A S T S & C O N V E R S A T I O N S ( ≈ 2 5 % )
- Edit founder podcast appearances, conversations with teachers and facilitators, and guest interviews: sync cameras, clean
and level audio, remove dead air without losing the natural pauses, and add lower-thirds, chapter markers, and end cards.
- Produce a clip package for each conversation (6–10 clips), plus audiograms, YouTube thumbnails, and show-notes-ready
timestamps.
- Deliver platform-ready exports for YouTube, Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and social.
L O N G - F O R M & S A N C T U A R Y F I L M ( ≈ 2 0 % )
- Edit brand films, sanctuary films for Costa Rica, Bali, and Nepal, guest stories, explainers on the practice and its lineage,
and partner-property presentations.
- Shape sound as carefully as picture (room tone, nature, breath, silence) to evoke an experience that happens without sight.
- Build and maintain reusable motion templates (intros, lower-thirds, transitions, the animated orb and wordmark) in After
Effects or Premiere.
S T I L L I M A G E E D I T I N G & G R A P H I C S ( ≈ 1 5 % )
- Retouch and grade photography of sanctuaries, landscapes, and people for social, web, print, and partner decks; build
carousels, quote cards, thumbnails, and story graphics from brand templates.
- Resize and adapt assets across formats and channels; keep the shared asset library organized and named consistently.
A C R O S S E V E R Y T H I N G
- Own the weekly post-production calendar and hit delivery deadlines without being chased.

- Apply the Acraya brand system rigorously: Cormorant and EB Garamond typography, the near-black and warm-gold
palette, the luminous orb motif, unhurried motion, and a quiet, assured tone.
- Route every piece featuring guests, facilitators, sacred sites, or statements about the practice through our review process
before it ships (see below).
- Track what performs and bring ideas back to the team about pacing, hooks, and formats.
What we’re looking for
R E Q U I R E D
- 3+ years of professional video editing, including at least one year producing short-form social content at volume for a
brand, agency, or creator.
- Expert in Adobe Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve; strong in After Effects for motion graphics and titles; fluent in
CapCut for quick-turn vertical work.
- Confident audio editing and mixing (Adobe Audition, Descript, or Resolve Fairlight), and an ear for silence. Podcast
experience is a strong plus.
- Strong color grading, especially of low-light, dusk, and night footage, where noise and muddy blacks are the enemy of a
premium image.
- Solid Photoshop and Lightroom skills for retouching and color; comfortable in Canva and Figma for template-based
graphics.
- Excellent written and spoken English; you can read a transcript and find the best 45 seconds, and you can write a caption
that sounds like a person, not a brochure.
- A portfolio that shows range: something fast and punchy, something slow and atmospheric, and something clean and
informational.
- Reliable high-speed internet, a capable editing machine, and a quiet place to work.
- Comfort with intimate, spiritual, and sometimes emotional material. People will be describing some of the most
profound experiences of their lives, and we treat that with respect.
N I C E T O H A V E
- Experience with luxury hospitality, travel, wellness, or contemplative brands.
- A meditation or contemplative practice of your own, or a genuine curiosity about one.
- Sound design for ambient or immersive pieces.
- Thumbnail design and YouTube packaging instincts.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted editing tools (auto-captioning, transcript-based cutting, upscaling, denoising) and a view on
where they help and where they don’t.
Working with sacred and sensitive material
Acraya’s brand rests on three pillars (safety, authenticity, and luxury), and our content is held to that standard. Three things
every editor here needs to internalize:
- Guest privacy. Discretion is part of what our guests come for. Nothing featuring a real guest is published without a
signed release on file, and we never include names, faces, or personal details beyond what has been consented to. When in
doubt, ask.
ACRAYA · SANCTUARIES FOR SPIRITUAL WANDERERS · ACRAYA.GLOBAL · 3
- Honest representation. A dark retreat is a contemplative practice, not a medical treatment. We let guests describe what
they experienced in their own words, and we never promise outcomes, imply health or therapeutic benefits, or edit in a
way that changes the meaning of what a guest, teacher, or facilitator said. Safety is always shown accurately.
- Respect for lineage. This practice comes from living traditions. Monastic communities, teachers, ceremonies, and sacred
objects are filmed and published only with permission, and never used as decoration.
We’ll train you on all of this. We just need you to care about it.

How to apply
Send the following to ---------- with the subject line “Video Editor — [Your Name]”:
- A link to your portfolio or reel.
- Three pieces you’re proudest of (at least one short-form vertical video and at least one long-form or podcast edit), with a
sentence on what you contributed to each.
- Your expected monthly fee (PHP) and earliest start date.
Shortlisted candidates will be asked to complete a paid, two-hour editing test using footage from our Costa Rica sanctuary.
The brief: make the viewer feel the darkness without ever showing it. That is followed by a video interview with our CMO
and CEO.
Our commitment
Acraya welcomes applicants of every background, tradition, and path, including none. We run a flexible, deadline-
based team across time zones that respects your time outside of core hours. We read everything, and we will respond
to everyone who sends all three items above.
