WordPress Developer Wanted – Australian Solar, Battery & EV Charging Website

I’m looking for an experienced WordPress developer to build a professional website for my Australian electrical business, Solar, Storage & Charge.

We specialise in residential solar, battery storage, EV charging and general electrical work in Melbourne.

I have already prepared a working draft website. The overall layout, page structure and most written content are substantially complete. This will be provided as the reference for the WordPress build.

The logo is currently being finalised, and some website content and design updates are still required. Final branding will be supplied, with the remaining changes agreed as part of the project.

The work will include:

• Building the complete website in WordPress, following the supplied draft’s layout, styling and content.
• Creating the service, product, project, advice, about and contact pages shown in the draft.
• Making the website work well on mobile, tablet and desktop.
• Incorporating the final logo, brand colours, supplied installation photos and product images.
• Setting up and testing enquiry forms, including spam protection and email delivery.
• Making it straightforward for me to update text, photos, projects and articles.
• Launching the completed website on my chosen hosting and providing a short handover or video walkthrough.

We will provide a page-by-page SEO brief covering page titles, meta descriptions, H1/H2 headings, preferred URLs and internal linking requirements. You will be responsible for implementing these correctly in WordPress and completing the technical SEO setup, including the XML sitemap, appropriate structured data, image optimisation and indexing settings.

Website speed is important. Please optimise and test loading speed on mobile and desktop using Google PageSpeed Insights. Provide results for the homepage and representative service, product and project pages before handover, and address any significant performance issues. Testing should use the completed website with its final images, forms and plugins on the intended hosting.

I’m looking for someone with a strong eye for layout, spacing and typography, as well as solid WordPress skills. Attention to detail, clear communication and reliable delivery are important.

Please recommend the theme or page builder you would use and explain any ongoing costs. I will require full administrator access and ownership of the completed website, with any paid themes, plugins and licence arrangements clearly disclosed.

I would also like to know the approximate cost to add a custom interactive illustration on the homepage, showing solar generation, flowing to battery, battery discharging energy at night charging EV etc. An original design suited to Solar, Storage & Charge. Selecting a stage should highlight it and display a short explanation, with subtle transitions. It must work with a mouse on desktop and by tapping on mobile. The section should remain lightweight, accessible and easy to update, with the explanatory content built as website text. If it goes ahead, I can provide the wording and agree on the final design before development. Please include this feature in your quote as a separate cost and, if available, share a live example of similar interactive work you have built.

This is a fixed-price freelance project, with potential for ongoing paid maintenance and future updates.

To apply, please send:

• Three relevant live WordPress websites you have built, explaining your role in each.
• Your recommended approach, including the theme or page builder.
• An indicative project price in USD.
• Your availability, estimated completion time and what you need from me to begin.
• What your quote includes for revisions, launch support and fixing issues after handover.
• Any separate hosting, plugin, licence or maintenance costs.
• An example of website speed results you have achieved on a previous project, if available.

The draft website is private. Please include an email address for viewer access so you can review the full website before providing your final quote. Your final quote should confirm the pages and functionality included.

Please begin your application with “SSC Website” so I know you have read the brief.
