Roots & Branches Group — Remote · Full Time · Reports to Website Manager
Who we're looking for
You're young in your career and deeply technical. You learn like a beast - hand you a tool you've never seen and you'll have it figured out by Thursday. AI genuinely excites you, and you've already been using it to do things nobody asked you to automate.
Most importantly: you think in optimisation, not in tasks. You don't just fix the broken thing. You ask why it broke, write the SOP so nobody has to think about it again, and build the check that catches it next time. You're comfortable enough with SQL and data that you can answer your own questions instead of asking someone to pull a report.
Who we are
Roots & Branches Group runs a portfolio of D2C brands - Ella Sleeps, Backerz and Fitage, across Shopify storefronts in NL, BE, DE and FR. We're small, we move fast, and the webshop is scaling faster than the operations behind it.
Let's be honest about the job
We have a backlog. Merchant Center has store-quality issues we haven't resolved. Our Channable feeds need real attention on images and product names. Search Console is flagging things nobody has triaged. Collection-pages SEO plan have been "pending" for months. Microsoft Clarity is installed but not configured.CRO roadmap is just a desire.
None of this is glamorous, and all of it is costing us money right now.
That's the opportunity. You'd walk into a defined, visible list where every item you close has a number attached. And you'd own it - not wait to be assigned tickets.
What you'll own
Product feeds and merchandising
Google Merchant Center health across four markets, Channable feed rules, Shopping image selection, product listing structure, feed completeness for DE and FR.
Technical SEO
Search Console triage, schema markup including localised schemas, internal linking between collection pages, on-page fundamentals across the blog and landing pages.
Shopify site operations
Making sure website is functioning as it should and up to date with promotional periods. Collection, landing pages, policies, payment options etc
Tracking and analytics
GA4, server-side tracking, Microsoft Clarity, Triple Whale dashboards. You'll QA Intelligems A/B tests and validate that what works so we can discuss next steps accordingly.
Lifecycle and CRO support
Klaviyo flows, back-in-stock, browse and cart abandonment. On-site quizzes and popups. Building test variants and checking they fire correctly before launch.
Competitive intelligence
Automated trackng of competitor pricing, promotions and page changes. Today we do this by hand. You'll make it run itself.i
AI and automation — the part that matters most
We want recurring work to stop recurring. Feed audits, competitor monitoring, review responses, SEO research, report generation. If you can build the agent or the script that removes a weekly task permanently, that's worth more to us than the task itself.
What you'll need
Must have
Hands-on Shopify experience - not just the admin panel, but themes, apps, collections and feeds
Google Merchant Center and Search Console, at diagnostic level
Comfortable with data: GA4, spreadsheets at a serious level, and basic SQL
Proven self-teaching. Tell us something complex you learned without being taught
Genuine AI fluency - not "I use ChatGPT", but things you've actually built
Strong and direct English.
Nice to have
Channable, Klaviyo, Triple Whale, Intelligems
Technical SEO and structured data
Light scripting - Python or JavaScript
Multi-market or cross-border e-commerce
