UI/UX Specialist (Ecommerce)
Confidential employer
We're Not Hiring Someone to Simply "Make Screens."
We're Hiring Someone Who Makes Shopping Easy, Clear, and Worth Finishing, and Proves It With Data.
PLEASE DO NOT REPLY DIRECTLY TO THIS POST. TO APPLY, FOLLOW THE STEPS AT THE END.
Pay: Negotiable flat rate per two-week period in USD, based on experience
Pay Timing: Paid once every two weeks. Approximately 80 hours per pay period, agreed upon at hire
Location: Remote, Philippines-based applicants only
Role Type: Full-time, long-term
Team Scope: Supports ecommerce, development, marketing, and creative teams across multiple Shopify client brands
Why This Role Exists
Most ecommerce stores do not lose sales because the products are bad.
They lose sales because:
Shoppers cannot find what they are looking for
Product pages leave important questions unanswered
Navigation is confusing or overloaded
The mobile experience feels like an afterthought
Checkout has unnecessary friction
Decisions are based on opinions instead of how real users behave
Changes go live without ever being tested
At EcomIgnyte, we build Shopify experiences designed to feel:
Intuitive
Fast and effortless
Trustworthy
Consistent across devices
Easy to navigate
Built to support conversion
We're hiring a UI/UX Specialist who can study how shoppers actually use our clients' Shopify stores, identify where they get stuck, design clear solutions, and prove what works through structured A/B testing in Intelligems.
For every client, you will propose and run 2–3 data-backed A/B split tests per month. That means this role is not just about designing better experiences. It is about continuously testing, learning, and improving each store based on real results.
This role exists so:
Every page has a clear purpose and a clear next step
Design decisions are grounded in user behavior and data
Every client has a steady monthly pipeline of meaningful A/B tests
Test results turn into permanent improvements and documented learnings
Mobile shoppers get an experience built for them
Friction in navigation, product pages, cart, and checkout gets found and fixed
Developers receive clear, well-documented designs they can build accurately
This is not about following trends or redesigning things for the sake of change.
It is about understanding users, testing ideas, and keeping what actually improves results.
What You'll Actually Be Doing
You will not only be designing interfaces.
You will help determine how shoppers move through each client's Shopify store, from first visit to completed order, and you will run the testing program that tells us what works.
UX Research and Design
Audit Shopify stores for usability, clarity, and conversion issues
Review heatmaps, session recordings, and analytics to understand user behavior
Map user flows for navigation, collections, product pages, cart, and checkout
Create wireframes and interactive prototypes in Figma
Design polished desktop and mobile interfaces that work within Shopify themes and sections
Improve navigation, search, filtering, and product discovery
Design product pages that answer shopper questions and build trust
Build and maintain reusable UI components and design systems in Figma
Apply accessibility best practices such as contrast, readable type, and tap targets
A/B Testing and Conversion Optimization
Propose 2–3 A/B split tests per client each month, based on analytics, behavior data, and past test results
Write a clear hypothesis for every test: what you are changing, why, and what result you expect
Design test variants and prepare them for launch
Set up and manage tests in Intelligems, including content, template, offer, shipping, and pricing tests as needed
Monitor running tests for issues and make sure they reach reliable results before being called
Analyze results and recommend whether to roll out, iterate, or drop each change
Maintain a testing roadmap and a results log for each client so learnings are never lost
Present test plans and results to the team in a clear, simple format
Collaboration and Handoff
Prepare organized, annotated handoff files for developers
Work with developers when a test or design requires theme code changes
Review built pages and test variants against designs before launch
Organize tasks, test schedules, revisions, feedback, and approvals inside ClickUp
You are not expected to be a Shopify developer.
You are expected to:
Think from the shopper's point of view
Understand how Shopify stores are structured and what is realistic to build
Back up design and testing decisions with data
Keep a consistent monthly testing rhythm for every client
Simplify complex flows
Design mobile-first
Communicate clearly with developers and marketers
Work across several brands without losing consistency
This Role Is for Someone Who…
Is curious about why users behave the way they do
Understands usability principles, information architecture, and interaction design
Knows Shopify well, including themes, sections, product pages, and the cart and checkout experience
Has run A/B tests and understands hypotheses, sample size, and statistical significance at a practical level
Is comfortable designing in Figma, including components and prototypes
Can explain the reasoning behind every design and test decision
Enjoys finding friction and removing it
Is comfortable reading data from analytics, heatmaps, and test results
Can manage a recurring testing schedule across multiple clients
Accepts losing tests as useful learning, not failure
Can work within existing brand guidelines
Can take feedback without ego
Communicates clearly and works well inside organized systems
Experience that helps:
Shopify store design and UX
Intelligems or other A/B testing tools (Convert, VWO, Optimizely, Shoplift, etc.)
Conversion rate optimization (CRO)
Price, offer, or shipping testing
User flows, wireframes, and prototyping
Figma components, variants, and design systems
Hotjar, Microsoft Clarity, or similar behavior tools
Google Analytics or Shopify analytics
Usability testing
Accessibility standards
Working with developers on design handoff
Agency or multi-client work
You do not need to be a "creative genius."
You do need:
Strong usability instincts
Hands-on Shopify knowledge
Comfort with data, testing, and evidence
The ability to simplify
Clear communication with non-designers
The discipline to keep a consistent testing program running for every client
How You'll Work With the Team
The strategy and data teams provide analytics, priorities, and business goals. You turn that into test ideas and clear, usable experiences.
The creative and copywriting teams provide brand visuals, messaging, and content. You make sure that content is structured so shoppers can find and understand it, and you test which versions perform best.
The development team builds what you design. You give them clear, organized, annotated files and review the result before launch or before a test goes live.
The marketing and media-buying teams send traffic to the store. You make sure that traffic lands on pages that are easy to use and continuously improving.
You are not designing in isolation.
You are part of a system built to make every client's store easier and more profitable to buy from, one tested improvement at a time.
Why You'll Like Working Here
Clear workflows and expectations
A variety of Shopify brands and UX challenges
Access to real user data and behavior insights
A steady testing program where you see your ideas measured every month
Structured briefs and organized project management
Leadership that values thoughtful, evidence-based design
Long-term opportunities for growth
A team that cares about quality, clarity, and execution
We do not reward redesigns for their own sake.
We reward clarity, sound reasoning, and changes that are proven to make shopping easier.
