About the Role

About the role

Curlfriend Collective is looking for a Marketing Associate who is early in their marketing career and loves both the numbers and analyzing creative. You'll be the person who pulls and compiles our Meta Ads data, digs in to find the winning hooks, formats, and angles, and brings those findings to management in a clear, organized way so we can d ---------- how to move forward.
This is a remote, contract role: you'll run the day-to-day maintenance of our Meta ads account, plus data and creative analysis and hands-on marketing execution. This is not a content creation role. You won't be designing, editing, filming, or making creative. You need a strong understanding of what makes creative perform, so you can analyze and report on it clearly; management sets the creative direction. You'll work closely with our founder/marketing lead, agencies and freelance partners to keep campaigns, launches, and day-to-day marketing running smoothly.

About us: Curlfriend Collective is a female-founded brand creating luxury silk hair care designed for curly, coily, and wavy hair. Our best selling accessories are 100% mulberry silk and help protect hair from frizz, pulling, and breakage while still looking stylish. Community is at the heart of everything we do, and we listen closely to our Curlfriends to create products that help every hair texture thrive! We have a fun and fast paced environment with a significant amount of autonomy in each role.

What you'll do

We're filling this contract role part-time or full-time based on the candidate’s experience. Part-time covers the core Meta ads, data, analysis, and reporting work. Full-time adds ownership of our affiliate, UGC, and creator programs, plus broader marketing support.

Core responsibilities:
Meta ads account management + daily maintenance

Daily
Run all daily maintenance in our Meta ads account: check spend, pacing, budgets, delivery, and frequency across every campaign
Update campaigns, ad sets, and ads as directed: budgets, bid strategies, targeting, placements, schedules, and optimization settings
Pause underperforming or fatigued ads and scale budgets based on agreed rules and management direction
Troubleshoot ad rejections and disapprovals, delivery issues, learning-phase problems, and account or policy flags
Upload and launch new ads: build campaigns and ad sets, load creative and copy, add UTMs, and follow our naming conventions
QA every launch and change (links, copy, placements, cropping, captions, budgets) before it goes live
Monitor and moderate comments on live ads

Weekly + ongoing
Keep a change log of every edit made in the account (what changed, when, and why) so performance shifts can be traced
Monitor the Meta Pixel, Conversions API (CAPI), and Events Manager so tracking and data stay accurate
Manage audiences (custom, lookalike, exclusions), refresh exclusion lists, and check for audience overlap between ad sets
Keep the product catalog and feed healthy: flag errors, out-of-stock items, and pricing mismatches
Set up and schedule promo campaigns with correct start/end dates, and update URLs, offers, and copy when promotions change
Watch account health: billing and payment methods, spending limits, Account Quality, and any restrictions
Keep the account clean: archive old campaigns and ads, enforce naming conventions, and keep the creative asset library and ad tagging organized so results are easy to analyze
Manage Business Manager settings, user permissions, and partner access
Stay current on Meta platform updates and new features (e.g., Advantage+ changes) and flag anything that affects our account

Data pulls + creative analysis
Pull Meta ads data weekly and put together a clear weekly performance report
Analyze creative-level metrics: hook rate, hold rate, CTR, CPC, CPM, CPA, ROAS, and frequency
Break results down by concept, angle, format (UGC, static, carousel, Reels), hook, and creator to find what's driving wins and losses
Flag creative fatigue early and surface what's working and what isn't
Help to build creative briefs for graphic designers and UGC creators

Copy analysis
Analyze which headlines, primary text, offers, CTAs, and messaging angles perform best
Highlight copy patterns and angles worth exploring based on what the data shows
Mine ad comments, product reviews, and customer feedback for real customer language, objections, and questions to use in copy and briefs

Weekly insights briefs + reporting to management
Compile findings into a weekly insights brief for management: top-performing hooks, formats, angles, and copy, plus what's underperforming or fatiguing
Present findings and supporting data in weekly check-ins; management d ---------- on next steps and creative direction
Once direction is set, pass it along clearly to our designers, editors, and creators
Track tests from launch → results in a central tracker so learnings build over time
Research competitors and trends (Meta Ad Library, TikTok, Instagram) and keep a swipe file of top-performing ads

What you bring

Must-haves
Complete fluency in English (native or near-native), written and spoken: our briefs, copy analysis, and creator communication depend on it
1–3 years of hands-on experience managing Meta ads. Freelance, agency, and in-house experience all count (DTC beauty or lifestyle a plus)
Detailed, hands-on knowledge of the Meta ads back end: Ads Manager, Business Manager / Meta Business Suite, Events Manager (Pixel + CAPI), campaign structure (CBO/ABO, Advantage+), audiences, budgets and bidding, attribution settings, and troubleshooting disapprovals and delivery issues. You should be able to run an account day to day without hand-holding.
Strong analytical skills: comfortable in spreadsheets (Google Sheets/Excel) and turning data into clear, actionable takeaways
A strong understanding of creative: you know what makes a scroll-stopping hook and KPIs that lead to a strong creative.
You can explain why an ad works (no hands on design, editing, or content creation skills required)
Clear, concise writing for reports and insight summaries
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to juggle multiple projects and deadlines
Self-starter and reliable working remotely and independently as a contractor
You like to break the mold of what’s been done before and test new ideas

Nice-to-haves
Experience with Shopify, Klaviyo, and creative analytics tools (e.g., Motion, Triple Whale, Northbeam)
Familiarity with TikTok Ads or other paid social platforms
Experience working with UGC creators, affiliate programs or influencer campaigns
Personal connection to the curly hair community and textured hair care
