About Us

Risk Assist Plus is a growing U.S. commercial insurance agency specializing in trucking and Non-Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT).

We are hiring an experienced insurance operations leader to become the owner’s right hand, oversee our team, answer routine insurance questions, and keep daily operations running smoothly so the owner can focus on sales and growth.

This position requires direct U.S. transportation insurance agency experience. General VA, trucking dispatch, or personal lines experience alone will not qualify.

What You Will Own

Team leadership and technical support

  • Manage daily priorities, workloads, deadlines, and accountability.
  • Be the first person employees approach for operational and routine trucking/NEMT insurance questions.
  • Review staff work, identify errors, train employees, and address performance issues.
  • Resolve routine problems independently. Escalate significant issues with a recommended solution.

Submissions and quoting coordination

  • Oversee application completion, document collection, submission quality, and underwriter follow-ups.
  • Review vehicle and driver schedules, loss runs, account summaries, and supporting documents for missing or conflicting information.
  • Track outstanding quotes and underwriting requirements.
  • Prepare organized quote and account information for the owner’s sales conversations.

Renewals and policy service

  • Own the renewal calendar and ensure preparation and remarketing begin on time.
  • Oversee COIs, endorsements, vehicle/driver changes, billing inquiries, and cancellation or reinstatement requests.
  • Verify completed work against instructions and policy documents.
  • Coordinate review of NEMT contract insurance requirements with licensed staff.

Systems and process improvement

  • Keep Zoho CRM records, task owners, deadlines, and next steps accurate.
  • Document procedures and improve recurring workflows.
  • Work with our automation specialist to reduce repetitive work and errors.
  • Provide a brief daily exception report and weekly operations dashboard.

You must be able to lead these workflows without relying on the owner for every answer. Coverage advice and activities requiring a U.S. insurance license will be routed to appropriately licensed staff.

Qualifications

  • Preferably five or more years supporting U.S. commercial insurance agencies, including at least three years of direct transportation insurance experience.
  • Demonstrated experience supervising, training, or serving as the senior technical resource for an insurance team.
  • Strong working knowledge of trucking commercial auto, motor truck cargo, physical damage, and general liability.
  • Hands-on experience with submissions, renewals, COIs, endorsements, and carrier/MGA communication.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.
  • Strong judgment, attention to detail, organization, and follow-through.
  • Reliable internet, backup internet, and a dependable power backup plan.
  • Availability during U.S. Central business hours.

Strongly preferred: Direct NEMT/private ambulance insurance experience, transportation workers’ compensation knowledge, and Zoho CRM experience.

Candidates with fewer years may be considered if they demonstrate exceptional transportation insurance knowledge and leadership ability.

What Success Looks Like

  • Employees receive clear direction and routine answers without repeatedly involving the owner.
  • Submissions are accurate and move promptly.
  • Renewals, service requests, and underwriter follow-ups stay on schedule.
  • Errors, rework, overdue tasks, and owner interruptions decrease.
  • Every active account has a clear owner and next step.
