Senior Australian Tax Accountant (Remote)

Australian Public Practice Experience Required
We are seeking an experienced Senior Australian Tax Accountant to support a growing Australian accounting and advisory firm.

This is a senior technical role responsible for preparing complex tax returns, financial statements, activity statements, payroll tax, and compliance work for companies, trusts, and family groups.

Essential Experience:

✔ Minimum 5 years Australian Public Practice experience
✔ Strong experience preparing Australian Company, Trust, Partnership, and Individual Tax Returns
✔ Hands-on experience with:
Division 7A
Trust Distributions
Capital Gains Tax (CGT)
Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT)
BAS & IAS
Payroll Tax
STP Phase 2
✔ Experience preparing:
Financial Statements
EOFY Workpapers
Tax Reconciliations
Balance Sheet Reconciliations
✔ Advanced Xero experience
✔ Experience with Xero Practice Manager and Xero Tax highly regarded
✔ CPA, CA, CPA Australia, or equivalent qualification preferred

You Will Be Responsible For:

Preparing Australian tax returns and financial statements
Managing tax compliance for companies, trusts, and family groups
Preparing BAS, IAS, payroll tax, and supporting workpapers
Reviewing bookkeeping and reconciliations
Identifying technical tax issues before review
Communicating with clients and stakeholders
Supporting advisory and tax planning opportunities

This role is designed for experienced Australian Public Practice Accountants.
If your background is primarily bookkeeping, accounts payable/receivable, payroll processing, or general accounting without significant Australian tax compliance experience, please do not apply.
