Job Overview

We are seeking a reliable and experienced Subrogation Virtual Assistant to support our Subrogation Department. The ideal candidate will have experience in medical billing, health insurance, subrogation claims, and working with healthcare providers and insurance portals.

Key Responsibilities
Open and manage subrogation claims involving Medi-Cal, Medicare, private health plans, and VA claims

Perform medical billing follow-up with healthcare providers, including hospitals, emergency room physicians, radiology providers, and other medical facilities

Handle and process HIPAA Letters of Representation (LORs)

Communicate with health insurance plans and demonstrate an understanding of insurance benefits, coverage, fees, and claims processes

Follow up with subrogation agencies to obtain itemized medical statements, final liens, and related documentation

Navigate and utilize the DHCS and Medicare portals to research claims, benefits, and lien information

Maintain accurate records and follow up on outstanding claims and documentation

Communicate professionally with insurance carriers, healthcare providers, subrogation agencies, and other relevant parties

Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and applicable privacy requirements

Qualifications
Previous experience in subrogation, medical billing, insurance claims, or healthcare administration

Familiarity with Medi-Cal, Medicare, VA, and private health insurance

Experience working with DHCS and Medicare portals

Knowledge of HIPAA requirements and Letters of Representation (LORs)

Strong communication, organization, follow-up, and documentation skills

Ability to work independently and manage multiple claims and tasks efficiently
