DTC Video Editor: $1,500/month
Confidential employer
We’re looking for a video editor to join our team long-term.
We’re a small team building DTC brands, moving fast, making a lot of creatives, testing constantly, and trying to build cool shit together.
The culture is laid-back, but the standard is high.
We want someone who’s hungry, wants to improve, takes feedback well, and ideally becomes someone we can genuinely be friends with (not someone who just wants to clock in, do the minimum, and collect a paycheck).
What You’ll Be Editing
Mostly short-form DTC ads, usually around 60-90 seconds.
Depending on the creative, you’ll work with:
- AI-generated visuals
- Animation
- B-roll
- Voiceover
- Motion graphics
- Multiple hook variations
A typical batch is:
3-5 hooks + 1 body
Once you’re fully trained, the target is around 30 batches per month.
We don’t expect you to hit that standard immediately. We’ll train you on how we think, how we review creative, and what good looks like for us.
What We’re Looking For
You DO need DTC/direct-response editing experience.
Beyond that, we care more about how you think and how badly you want to improve than whether you’re the most technically advanced editor today.
We’re looking for someone who understands what the script is trying to make the viewer feel, and knows how to communicate that visually through pacing, clip selection, animation, AI, and storytelling.
The Kind of Person We Want
You’ll fit in well if you:
- Learn quickly
- Take feedback without getting defensive
- Can figure things out without needing every step explained
- Move fast without getting sloppy
- Communicate well
- Are reliable
- Care whether the final creative is actually good
- Want to get noticeably better over time
You won’t fit in if you disappear randomly, move painfully slowly, need constant hand-holding, or treat feedback like a personal attack.
AI
We use AI heavily.
You don’t need to know how to use every tool already (we can teach you that).
What matters more is your eye.
If an AI visual looks fake, weird, or cheap, it needs to be redone. If an AI voiceover sounds obviously AI-generated, it needs to be redone. We care more about good judgment than knowing 30 different AI tools.
Feedback + Growth
We have weekly creative calls where we review creatives, revisions, what worked, what didn’t, and why. We also use Loom reviews when needed.
We want you to understand why something was wrong so you get better every week.
As you grow with us, we’ll do our best to help you move toward whatever direction you want to grow into. Whether that’s becoming a stronger editor, moving into creative strategy, managing editors, or something else.
We care about the people on our team and want this to feel like a group of friends building something together.
