ABOUT LIMINAL THREAD
Liminal Thread is an Australian-based business working predominantly within the dance industry.
We manage social media for dance businesses and brands across Australia, Canada and the US, alongside building our own brands and projects.
We're growing, and I'm looking for someone who can become a long-term part of the Liminal Thread team.
This isn't a role where I want someone to simply wait for a list of tasks every day. I'm looking for someone organised, proactive and genuinely invested in making sure the work gets done well.
THE ROLE
Initially, your main responsibility will be taking completed social media content and owning everything that happens from handoff to publication.
I will continue to lead strategy and create content for our social media management clients. Once I hand completed content over to you, I want to be able to forget about it.
You'll make sure content is scheduled or published on time, on the correct account, with the correct caption, tags, collaborators, links and other platform-specific requirements.
As you learn our brands and demonstrate strong creative judgement, there will also be opportunities to take on content creation for Liminal Thread's own brands.
This is a long-term role that I would love to grow alongside the business.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Schedule approved social media content across multiple brands and platforms
- Publish prepared social media Stories, including adding links, tags and native features
- Manually publish content where native platform features are required
- Add correct tags, mentions and collaborators
- Update social media calendars and Asana boards
- Check that scheduled content has published correctly
- Notice and flag errors or missing information before content goes live
- Run routine social media reports
- Keep publishing workflows organised across multiple brands
- Communicate problems or blockers early
- Eventually assist with asset organisation, repurposing and content creation for Liminal Thread-owned brands
YOU'LL SUIT THIS ROLE IF YOU
- Already understand social media. I can teach you our systems, but I cannot teach you social media from scratch.
- Understand Instagram, Facebook and ----------
- Understand Reels, Stories, captions, tags, collaborators, links and native platform features
- Have excellent written English
- Have exceptional attention to detail
- Are comfortable managing multiple brands at the same time
- Can work independently once you've been trained
- Are proactive and notice when something doesn't look right
- Ask questions when you're unsure rather than guessing
- Are comfortable speaking up when you notice a mistake or think something could be done better
- Take ownership of your work rather than simply ticking tasks off a list
- Are comfortable working with a very casual Australian business owner who swears 😂
BONUS POINTS
Dance industry experience would be exceptionally valuable.
If you've danced, taught dance, worked in a dance studio or worked with dance businesses before, please tell me about it in your application.
Experience with any of the following is also helpful, but not essential:
- Asana
- Vista Social
- Canva
- Google Drive
- Social media scheduling platforms
- Working across multiple brands or client accounts
HOURS + PAY
Approximately 10 hours per week initially.
Because some content needs to be published manually, you'll need some availability Monday to Friday rather than completing all 10 hours on one day.
There is room for the position to grow toward approximately 15–20 hours per week as Liminal Thread grows and you take on additional responsibilities.
There will be a review after your first 30 days and a larger role/pay review around 90 days.
This is intended to be a long-term position.
HOW TO APPLY
Please start your application with:
CONTENT IS LIVE
Then answer the following:
- Why does this role suit you?
- Tell me about your experience managing or publishing social media content. What parts did you personally own?
- Which platforms have you worked with?
- Tell me about a time you noticed a mistake or problem that someone else had missed. What did you do?
- If I gave you a finished Reel and caption and you noticed a spelling mistake in the on-screen text shortly before it was due to publish, what would you do?
- Do you have any experience in dance or the dance industry? If yes, tell me about it.
- What other work commitments do you currently have?
- What is your expected hourly rate?
Please include links to any relevant examples of social media accounts or work you've been involved with and explain what you personally did.
Please also confirm your internet reliability/backup arrangements and your usual working hours/time zone.
I don't expect you to know our exact systems on day one. I'm much more interested in finding someone who understands social media, communicates well, notices the little things and genuinely takes ownership of their work.
