About the Role

We’re looking for a highly detail-oriented Design QA + Operations Specialist to be the final quality check before work reaches our clients. We are a purpose-driven design studio that supports nonprofits who make the world better.

Your job is simple:

Nothing leaves QA with an error that a checklist could have caught.

You’ll review every design round, catch errors, verify client feedback was addressed, and make sure files are technically ready for print or digital delivery.

This is not primarily a design role. You should be comfortable in InDesign, but your superpower is accuracy and attention to detail.

What you'll own

70% — Quality Assurance

  • Proof every round before it reaches our clients.
  • Check copy against the approved document: names, numbers, titles, captions, credits, etc.
  • Verify long lists name-by-name.
  • Check print specs: page count, pagination, spreads, bleed, margins, image resolution, color, fonts, packaging, etc.
  • Check digital specs: dimensions, links, alt text, file naming, exports, etc.
  • Review every feedback comment and confirm it has been addressed.
  • Make sure collateral is delivered in the correct sizes from Round 1.
  • Send anything that fails QA back to the designer.

30% — Design Operations

  • Keep files, versions, assets, and final packaging organized.
  • Maintain the designer QA checklist and SOPs.
  • Prepare files for Tuesday critique and capture takeaways.
  • Track recurring errors and help improve our processes.

How we'll measure success

  • Zero preventable QA errors reach the client.
  • 100% of rounds have a completed QA sheet.
  • 100% of feedback comments are closed or answered.
  • Print files pass production specs before handoff.

You’re a good fit if…

  • You've proofed or produced real multi-page printed publications.
  • You understand spreads, pagination, bleed, trim, and multiples of 4.
  • You're fluent enough in InDesign to inspect, fix, package, and export files.
  • You're EXTREMELY detail-oriented and call yourself Type-A.
  • You communicate clearly and concisely.
  • You aren't afraid to send work back when something isn't right.
  • You flag problems early instead of saying, “Looks good.”
  • You are reliable and committed
  • You have experience with tools like ClickUp, Slack, Google Workspace, and Design Markup tools

Please apply with:

  • A short intro (video is a bonus!)
  • Your InDesign/print production experience
  • Your availability
