SEO Specialist/Strategist

SEO Specialist: Full Time (40 hrs/week), Remote (Evening/Night Shift, Philippines)

Hi, and thanks for taking a look. I'm a freelance SEO consultant hiring one person to grow with long term. Please read the full post before applying, especially the hours and how to apply.

IS THIS ROLE FOR YOU?

• You have at least 2 years of hands-on SEO experience. More experience is preferred. This isn't an entry-level role, but you don't need to be an expert. Juniors and experienced candidates are both welcome, and pay reflects experience.
• You can commit to a full-time shift approximately 4pm - 12pm in the Philippines.
• You want a long-term role where you do the SEO work yourself. There is huge room for growth in your knowledge, experience, and skillset, delivering SEO to world class standards.

THE ROLE

• There's more client work than I can handle alone, and you'll own SEO strategy and execution across several accounts.
• The role is behind the scenes. You won't have client contact, and your work goes out under my name.
• You'll brief and QA writers, off-page specialists and designers.
• Once we agree on a plan, you run with it and come to me when something needs a decision.
• Responsibility and pay grow as trust builds.

HOW TO APPLY

2. A ~5 minute video (Loom or similar), also as a Google Drive link. A general video you've already recorded is fine. Please talk naturally rather than reading from a script. Cover:

• Your SEO background, in detail
• Projects you're proud of and exactly what you did on them
• Ideally, how your experience fits a role like this, and any skill gaps you'd like to fill

• You can use AI as you would in the role, but you'll need to talk to me through your work and reasoning at the interview.

TERMS

• Pay: $700–$1,200/month, depending on experience.
• Juniors (1-2 years) start toward the lower end of the band. Experienced candidates start higher.
• Pay is reviewed on performance. High-quality, proactive, independent work moves you toward the top of the band, with further growth as clients grow.
• Hours: 40 hrs/week, Mon–Fri, 9am–5pm UK time. Hours can shift later but not earlier.
• Late March to late October: 4pm–12am Manila
• Late October to late March: 5pm–1am Manila
• This is a night shift in the Philippines. Please only apply if these hours work for you long term.
• Workload: This is a full-time role. The workload will build up as new accounts are onboarded, and we'll discuss the details at the interview.
• Time off: 10–20 paid days off per year, agreed in advance.
• Tools and training: all provided, including Ahrefs, Screaming Frog, Monday/Asana and AI subscriptions, plus training (such as Udemy) and existing SOPs.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Research and strategy: keyword research and clustering, intent mapping, competitor, SERP and content gap analysis, and account roadmaps
• On-page and content: writer-ready briefs, editing and QA, titles, metas and headings, content calendars, and refreshing decayed pages
• Internal linking: linking maps, orphaned pages, anchor planning, and implementation
• Technical: Screaming Frog audits, indexation, site structure, redirects, schema, and prioritised fix lists
• Off-page: backlink and competitor gap analysis, prospecting, briefing link specialists, and Reddit seeding
• Conversion: landing and sales page audits
• Reporting: monthly reports and decks from GA4, Search Console and Ahrefs (Looker Studio a plus)
• Local: Google Business Profile optimisation and posting
• AI search: visibility in ChatGPT, Perplexity and AI Overviews
• Project management: planning across accounts, chasing delivery, and QAing everything before it reaches clients

MUST-HAVES

• 1-2+ years of hands-on SEO. You do the work yourself; this is not an oversight role.
• Excellent written and spoken English, and clear communication
• Ahrefs, Search Console and GA4, used to find cause and effect, not just to export reports
• Sheets or Excel and Slides
• Screaming Frog, WordPress or a similar CMS, and Monday or a similar PM tool
• Daily use of Claude or ChatGPT
• Well organised, proactive, and raises problems early
• Reliable, fast internet and a machine that can handle screen-sharing
• Two screens, for working on two screens at the same time. Ideally a second machine (laptop/pc etc.) as well but not essential

Hands-on experience matters more than years on a CV. Agency experience is a strong plus. If you meet most of these but not all, still apply and mention your gaps in your video.

HOW YOU WORK

• You check numbers before using them and can explain what drove a change.
• You flag problems instead of quietly working around them.
• You're careful with client data and access.
• You build systems: SOPs, templates, reusable AI prompts and small automations. You don't need to be an expert yet, but you should want to become one.
• You use AI to work faster, not to replace your thinking. You can explain and defend everything you send.
