About the Role

Experienced WordPress & Elementor Specialist
Website Development, Email Marketing, HubSpot & AI Workflows

Location: Remote

Schedule: 36-40 hours a week and required working hours in EST time

Engagement type: Independent contractor

About the Role
We are looking for an experienced, efficient, and detail-oriented WordPress and Elementor specialist to build, maintain, and improve websites across our pet, hospitality, and wellness-event businesses.

Website development and maintenance will be your primary responsibility. Hands-on email marketing experience is also required. HubSpot experience is strongly preferred, practical AI experience is highly desirable, and graphic design or photo-editing skills are valuable bonuses.

This is a structured, hands-on role. You will receive clear business priorities, project briefs, deadlines, feedback, and ongoing direction. We need someone with the technical experience to turn that direction into completed, tested work without requiring step-by-step instruction on the fundamentals.

We value speed, accuracy, and consistent follow-through. You should work at a productive pace, communicate proactively, take feedback well, and be willing to learn unfamiliar tools and processes.

You do not need to know every platform we use. However, you should bring strong core skills and demonstrate that you can learn efficiently and apply what you learn.

Projects will be prioritized according to business needs and available capacity. We are not expecting one person to act as an entire development, design, SEO, and marketing department simultaneously.

How We Work: Efficiency, Structure & Accountability

WORK EFFICIENTLY AND MEET AGREED DEADLINES

Provide realistic task estimates, follow assigned priorities, and use your working time effectively.

  • Use reusable templates, established processes, and approved AI tools to reduce unnecessary manual work.
  • Speed matters, but deliverables must still be accurate, polished, and tested.

FOLLOW THE AGREED SCHEDULE AND STAY RESPONSIVE

Scheduled work time must be dedicated to company responsibilities.

  • Remain reachable through our agreed communication channels, attend scheduled meetings, and follow established availability and response expectations.

Keep progress visible.

  • Maintain an updated task board and provide a brief daily summary of completed work, current tasks, and blockers.
  • Flag missing information, unclear instructions, or potential delays early rather than waiting until a deadline is missed.

TAKE DIRECTION AND APPLY FEEDBACK

Follow project briefs, brand guidelines, and approved processes.

  • Ask focused questions when needed, apply corrections consistently, and use feedback to improve future work.

Show initiative within clear boundaries.

  • We welcome practical suggestions and better ways of working.
  • Routine, approved tasks should move forward without repeated reminders.
  • Changes to agreed priorities, significant scope changes, new expenses, major changes to live systems, and deletion of important data require approval.

Core Responsibilities

1. Website Development and Design

  • Build, redesign, and improve websites using WordPress and Elementor/Elementor Pro.
  • Projects may include full websites, homepages, service pages, location pages, campaign landing pages, and inquiry or registration pages.
  • Create responsive layouts that work well on desktop, tablet, and mobile. Use reusable templates, global styles, and organized page structures to keep websites consistent and easy to maintain.
  • Configure navigation, headers, footers, forms, and integrations. Make basic HTML and CSS adjustments when needed.

Pay close attention to typography, spacing, imagery, readability, navigation, and clear calls to action. We are looking for thoughtful design—not simply placing content into a template.
2. Website Maintenance, Troubleshooting & Performance

  • Keep websites functional, current, and reliable.
  • Manage WordPress, theme, and plugin updates using appropriate backups, staging, and rollback procedures. Test important functions after making changes.
  • Investigate and resolve broken layouts, failed forms, plugin conflicts, slow pages, broken links, and integration issues. - Optimize images and review unnecessary plugins or scripts where appropriate.
  • Carry out routine checks so problems are identified before they affect customers or inquiries.
  • Maintain organized records of hosting, domains, plugins, licenses, and renewal dates. Company accounts and digital assets must remain under company ownership, with access managed through approved systems.

3. Email Marketing & Follow-Up Automation

  • Practical email marketing experience is required.
  • Create branded, mobile-friendly newsletters, promotional campaigns, and email templates. Prepare or refine copy, select the appropriate audience, and submit campaigns for approval.
  • Build and maintain straightforward welcome, inquiry follow-up, nurture, and re-engagement sequences.
  • Organize audiences by brand, interest, inquiry type, or customer stage. Connect website forms to the correct contact lists and follow-up workflows.
  • Test links, personalization, triggers, notifications, and routing before launch. Review clicks, qualified inquiries, conversions, unsubscribes, and delivery issues.
  • Use approved contact lists, respect consent and unsubscribe preferences, and keep each brand’s audiences appropriately separated.
  • You do not need advanced expertise in every email marketing discipline, but you should already know how to execute routine campaigns and basic automations.

4. HubSpot, Forms & CRM Integrations

  • Hands-on HubSpot experience is strongly preferred.
  • Depending on the features available in our account, responsibilities may include connecting WordPress/Elementor forms, mapping contact fields, organizing contacts, preparing campaigns, setting up lead notifications, and maintaining basic follow-up workflows.
  • Check the entire inquiry process:

A visitor submits a form → the information reaches the correct system → the appropriate team member is notified → the intended follow-up occurs.

  • When something fails, identify where the process broke down and verify the fix from start to finish.

Experience with another established CRM or email marketing platform is welcome. Direct HubSpot implementation experience will strengthen your application.
5. SEO, Analytics & Conversion Improvements

  • Apply practical on-page and technical SEO fundamentals, including page titles, headings, internal links, image alt text, URL structure, redirects, and indexing checks.
  • Use tools such as Google Analytics and Google Search Console to review performance and identify potential issues. Help configure or troubleshoot basic form-submission and conversion tracking.
  • Review websites from the customer’s perspective: Is the service clear? Is the next step obvious? Does the page establish trust? Is the form easy to complete?
  • Recommend improvements based on available evidence, distinguishing between what the data shows and what still needs to be tested.

6. AI-Assisted Workflows

  • Strong practical AI experience is highly desirable.
  • We are interested in how you use AI to improve productivity and quality—not simply which tools you have tried.
  • Relevant uses may include technical troubleshooting, code assistance, content organization, email variations, image preparation, testing checklists, documentation, and repetitive tasks.
  • Tools may include ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Cursor, or other approved platforms. No particular combination is required.
  • You remain responsible for the finished work. Review content for accuracy and brand fit, test code before deployment, and protect company and customer information.
  • Be prepared to explain how you used AI, what you changed or rejected, and how you verified the result.

7. Project Coordination & Documentation

  • Organize your work around the company’s priority list, provide realistic estimates, and follow through on agreed deadlines.
  • Document important website settings, integrations, form destinations, automation workflows, and significant changes so another team member can understand and maintain the systems.
  • Escalate urgent issues promptly within the agreed working-hours and response arrangements. Communicate problems with enough detail for the team to make a decision, including a proposed next step where possible.

Essential Qualifications

  • Substantial hands-on WordPress and Elementor experience, typically three or more years, supported by a strong portfolio. Demonstrated capability matters more than years alone.
  • Experience maintaining websites after launch, strong responsive-design skills, basic HTML/CSS, and confidence troubleshooting plugins, forms, hosting, and domain-related issues.
  • Hands-on experience creating email campaigns and basic automated sequences in at least one established platform.
  • A practical understanding of website performance, SEO fundamentals, analytics, and lead-generation processes.
  • Clear written communication, the ability to prepare or refine customer-facing content, and a record of delivering accurate work within agreed timelines.

You should be comfortable researching unfamiliar problems, testing solutions safely, following instructions, and recognizing when approval or specialist help is needed.

A willingness to learn is important, but it should build on existing competence in the core responsibilities. This is not an entry-level position.

Strongly Preferred Experience

  • HubSpot implementation: You have personally configured or managed forms, contacts, campaigns, integrations, or follow-up processes—not merely viewed information in the platform.
  • Practical AI workflows: You regularly use AI in your work and can demonstrate how you check its output.
  • Multiple-brand or multiple-website management: You can stay organized, preserve brand differences, and follow an agreed priority order across projects.
