Content Research & Sourcing Specialist
Confidential employer
About Us
We are a growing parenting education company that helps parents of young children move from reactive parenting to clear, repeatable systems that build cooperation, responsibility, emotional security, and self-governance. Our founder is a nationally recognized parenting expert, and our content reaches a large and engaged audience of parents across social media.
Our content translates that methodology into practical parenting education through reaction videos, direct teaching, demonstrations, commentary, and other formats built around the real problems parents are experiencing.
We’re looking for a Content Research & Sourcing Specialist to find the conversations, source material, audience signals, and proven content opportunities we should act on next.
Position Summary
The Content Research & Sourcing Specialist is a part-time contract role that combines outside research with information from our existing social media team to build a prepared content pipeline. The standard is usable intelligence, not a collection of links. Each recommendation should give the team enough context and judgment to d ---------- and execute quickly.
The primary output is a consistently stocked, organized pipeline of relevant content opportunities and source assets, each paired with a clear recommendation for why we should act on it. This role works alongside our existing social media team. It is a specialist execution role, not a management position over the current team.
This is a great fit for someone who is deeply immersed in social media culture, has sharp instincts for what makes parenting content resonate, and is comfortable operating in a fast-moving, entrepreneurial environment with high standards for ownership, responsiveness, and execution.
Key Responsibilities
● Research parenting conversations, trends, formats, sounds, creators, and emerging topics across TikTok, Instagram, YouTube Shorts, Facebook , and other relevant platforms.
● Source strong parenting-related videos, clips, posts, and conversations for our founder to react to or teach from.
● Apply our sourcing standards, including relevance to parents of young children, clarity of the parent-child interaction, sufficient context, source quality, originality, and fit with our teaching methodology.
● Identify emerging conversations early enough for us to participate while attention is still building.
● Identify gaps and opportunities in the current content mix based on audience questions, market conversations, competitor activity, and content performance.
● Review information from the existing social media team, including comments, recurring audience questions, platform performance, and community signals, and convert it into content opportunities.
● Identify existing content winners that should be reposted, repurposed, reformatted, expanded, or revisited with a new angle.
● Monitor comments and audience conversations to surface recurring parenting problems, objections, language, and high-value questions.
● Package recommendations so the team can act immediately. Each recommendation should include the source asset, the opportunity, why it matters, and the suggested use or angle.
● Maintain an organized research and sourcing pipeline so strong ideas and assets are easy to find, prioritize, and move into production.
● Flag sensitive, high-risk, or reputation-related source material for leadership review.
Qualifications
● 2–3 years of professional or freelance experience supporting social media, content research, audience research, or a closely related function.
● Deep familiarity with TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook , and how content spreads across them.
● Strong judgment about what makes a content opportunity relevant, timely, credible, and useful to a public-facing expert brand.
● Ability to research quickly, distinguish signal from noise, and turn findings into specific recommendations.
● Comfort interpreting social media performance data and audience signals.
● Strong organization and the ability to work independently in a fast-moving, entrepreneurial environment.
● Clear written communication and attention to detail.
● Interest in parenting, family, education, or behavioral content is a plus.
● Basic familiarity with Canva, CapCut, or similar content tools is helpful.
What Success Looks Like
● We always have a ready queue of strong source material and content opportunities.
● Trending topics and conversations are surfaced early enough to act on them.
● Recommendations arrive with enough context and judgment that the team does not need to redo the research.
● Sourced material consistently fits the audience, the brand, and our teaching framework.
● Existing content winners are identified and reused systematically instead of being forgotten after one publication cycle.
● Audience questions and market signals regularly become actionable content intelligence.
● The research pipeline contributes to stronger reach, follower growth, engagement, and revenue-producing content decisions.
