About the Role

(Read entire application before applying, there is information in here that will make or break your application)

Remote | Full-Time | Long-Term Position
Salary: $1,000–$2,000 CAD/month

Content Crew is looking for talented Video Editors to join our remote creative team.

We work with entrepreneurs, business owners, coaches, and personal brands to turn raw footage into engaging content for Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook , and LinkedIn.

We're looking for editors who understand that great editing isn't about adding as many effects as possible.

It's about holding attention, telling a story, and making content people actually want to watch.

Compensation & Growth

Starting salary is $1,000 CAD/month, with opportunities to increase your compensation as you grow with the team.

Our Senior Editors currently earn up to $2,000 CAD/month.

We're looking for people who want to stay with Content Crew long-term, continuously improve their skills, take on more responsibility, and grow their compensation along the way.

If you're a great editor, reliable, and consistently produce high-quality work, there is a clear opportunity to progress within our team.

What You'll Be Editing

You'll work on content including:

  • Short-form Reels, TikToks, and YouTube Shorts
  • Talking-head educational content
  • Podcasts and long-form YouTube videos
  • Meta/Facebook ads
  • Client testimonials and case studies
  • Promotional videos
  • Personal brand content

What We're Looking For

We're looking for editors with a strong creative eye who understand modern social media content.

You should understand:

  • Strong hooks and attention-grabbing openings
  • Fast, intentional pacing
  • Cutting unnecessary pauses and filler
  • B-roll selection and placement
  • Music and sound design
  • Captions and text animation
  • Zooms, punch-ins, and pattern interrupts
  • Basic colour correction and audio cleanup
  • Editing for viewer retention
  • How editing styles should change between organic content, ads, podcasts, and YouTube

CapCut is our preferred editing software, but we're open to editors using other programs if you can produce great work.

We're much more interested in the quality of your edits than what software you use.

You'll Be a Great Fit If You...

  • Have a strong sense of pacing and storytelling
  • Understand current social media editing styles
  • Can take raw footage and make creative decisions independently
  • Pay attention to small details
  • Communicate well
  • Hit deadlines consistently
  • Take feedback well
  • Can turn around edits quickly
  • Want a long-term position with a growing creative team

How Our Hiring Process Works

We want to keep our hiring process simple and fast.

Step 1 — Portfolio + Loom Introduction

To apply, send us your portfolio AND a short Loom video introducing yourself.

We're not looking for a polished or scripted introduction. We just want to get to know the person behind the portfolio.

In your Loom, please answer these four questions:

1. What's your name, age, and location?

2. Tell us a little about yourself.
What do you like doing outside of work? Hobbies, interests, sports, games, travel — whatever you're into.

3. How did you get into video editing?

4. What do you like AND dislike about video editing?

Keep it casual. Just be yourself.

Alongside your Loom, send us a link to your portfolio with examples of your best editing work, especially short-form and social media content.

Step 2 — 24-Hour Editing Test

If we love your portfolio and think you could be a great fit for Content Crew, we'll reach out to arrange a test edit.

We'll send you raw footage and assets, and you'll have 24 hours to turn them into a finished video.

We will only ask you to complete a test edit if we are seriously considering hiring you.

We don't want to waste your time.

If you're receiving a test from us, it means we liked your work, we liked your application, and we believe there's a real possibility of you joining our team.

The test is simply our opportunity to see how you approach our footage, how you make creative decisions, and whether your editing style fits our clients.

Step 3 — Hiring Decision

We move fast.

If we love your test video and think you're a good fit, we'll make our hiring decision the following day.

No weeks of interviews.

No five-round hiring process.

Portfolio + Loom → 24-Hour Test → Hiring Decision

How to Apply

Please send us:

1. Your portfolio
Include your strongest examples of short-form and social media editing.

2. Your Loom introduction
Answer the four questions listed above.

3. Your availability
Let us know whether you're available full-time and when you could start.

4. Your primary editing software
CapCut is preferred, but not required.

Applications without both a portfolio and Loom introduction will not be considered.

We're looking for editors who want to become **long-term members of Content Crew, improve their skills, work on great content, and grow with our team.

If you're confident in your editing and think you'd be a great addition to the crew, send us your portfolio and introduce yourself. We'd love to meet you.
